Fancast: Maximum Carnage

Check out my fncast for the infamous Spiderman storyline from the 90's!

First of all, I apologize in advance for not posting anything in awhile. I've been very busy with my senior year of high school, along with my newfound hobby of writing fanfiction. I've also not been on here because of my disgust/ irritation with some of the more immature CBM members (whose names I won't mention). However, now that my Senior Year of High school has ended, I've decided to post my long-delayed cast for Maximum Carnage

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the storyline, allow me to give you some information. It was a fourteen part storyline in 1993 that involved Spiderman and Venom forming an uneasy alliance (along with other superheroes) to bring down Carnage and his new team of Supervillains, who were currently on a spree of murder and mayhem. It wasn't well received at the time, but I personally enjoy it. Plus, it's superb and infinitely better than One More Day (or as I like to call it: "Joe Quesada's Crappy Fanfiction").

Anyway, let's get this show on the road!

Heroes:

Elijah Wood (Wilfred, The Lord of the Rings trilogy) as Peter Parker/Spider-Man: The web-slinging superhero of New York City, who works as a photographer for the Daily Bugle. Peter's powers include superhiman strengh, speed, agility, stamina, reflexes, and endurance, a precognitive "Spider-Sense", the ability to cling to most surfaces, and a genius-level intellect. Peter also uses web-shooters, which are wrist-mounted launchers that shoots an advance adheisive that can be formed into ropelike "webs".

Reason for Casting: I'm aware that Garfield's performance as Spidey is universally loved, but this is my pick for an adult Spider-Man. He's pretty versatile and talented, and can bring a dry sense of humor to the role. Plus, he has that dorky, relatable everyman vibe to him that Spiderman has. He'd do good as Webhead.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead (SmashedKill the Messenger) as Mary Jane Watson: Peter's wife, who works as a supermodel. During Carnage's rampage, her and Peter's relaionship becomes increasingly strained.

Reason for Casting: Yes, I'm still casting MEW as an adult MJ, mainly because I think she's love, beuatiful, and has an interesting face (unlike Kirsetn Dunst's). Beisdes looks, she's a talented actress who usually gives out a good performance. Plus, she had that classic model look to her.

Sam Witwer (Battlestar GalacticaGrimm) as Eddie Brock/Venom: A former journalist who was bonded to an Alien Symbiote, which was once bonded to Spiderman. He forms a very loose and uneasy alliance with Spiderman to take down Carnage. When bonded to the symbiote, Brock gains powers similar to Spider-Man's including the ability to create organic webbing. However, the symbiote also gives him other abilities, including creating tendrils to grab items from a distance, and can also bypass Spider-Man's Spider Sense.

Reason for Casting: Witwer really hasn't had a chance to shine in a CBM role. He's a really good at intense roles, has an intimidating look, and is around the right height. Plus, judging from his voicework as Darth Maul on <i>Stae Wars: The Clone Wars</i>, he has the right voice for Venom.

Eliza Dushku (DollhouseMidnight Rider) as Felicia Hardy/Black Cat: A former jewelry theif who also serves as an ally to Spider-Man. Felicia has the reflexes, agility, and stamina of an Olympic level atheletic, has very strong strengh and physical endurance, is a highly trained martial artist, and can subconciously manipulate probalility. She also posseses grappling hooks in the fur tufts of her costume.

Reason for Casting: I mainly choose Dushku because she's a cute, sexy little lady with loads of talent in her. If you've seen her on Dollhouse, you'd know she gives a good performance, and can kick some serious ass. Plus, she'd look awesome in skintight leather.

Colin Farrell (Dead Man DownSaving Mr. Banks) as Dr. Michael Morbius/Morbius, the Living Vampire: A former scientist, who after a combination of electroshock and chemical ingestion in an attempt to cure him of a rare blood dieases, became a psuedo-vampire. Morbius's biochemical vampirism grants him the abilities of flight, enhanced physical attributes, and hypnosis. As a downside to this, he also posses a releiance on human blood and an aversion to sunlight.

Reason for Casting: I know Farrell has gotten some flack for his role as Bullseye in Daredevil, but I still think he's a talented actor. He's capable of giving a good performance under the right direction. He's very good at action and also has experience playing a vampire before in Fright Night

Aldis Hodge (LeverageA Good Day to Die Hard) as Tyrone "Ty" Johnson/Cloak: A mutant who makes up one half of the crime-fighting duo of Cloak and Dagger. Cloak has the mutant abilities of teleportation and intangibility, his cloak has access to a Darkforce Dimension.

Reason for Casting: I openly admit that I had a lot of trouble casting Cloak and Dagger, so I decided to go with RoadDog's picks for the roles. If you've seen his work on Leverage, then you know that he'd be able to pull off cloak.

AJ Michalka (Super 8Grace Unplugged) as Tandy Bowen/Dagger: A mutant who makes up the other half of Cloak and Dagger. Dagger has the ability to create psionic "light daggers", These daggers can travel wherever she wills them, and can drain living beings of vitality when struck.

Reason for Casting: Again, this pick is from RoadDog. I can't say much of Michalka's acting abilities since she has appeared in so little, but her background in dancing definitely helps her when it comes to playing Dagger.

Kellan Lutz (Immortals, Legend of Hercules) as Danny Rand/Iron Fist: The son of a wealthy entrepenuer, who was trained by Kei-Lung and is the modern incarnation of the legendary Iron Fist. Danny is a master martial artist with enhanced physical attributes and healing powers. He also knows the ability of the Iron Fist, which allows him to summon and focus his chi energy, including making his fists as hard as iron.

Reason for Casting: If you ignore Lutz's work in the Twilight films, then you can see he's a pretty decent actor. He has the Danny Rand look for the role, and can play the jokey and cocky sides of Danny. Plus, he know some pretty sick martial arts moves, as seen in  Arena

Philip Winchester (Camelot, Strike Back) as Steve Rogers/Captain America: A former soldier durin World War II and leader of the Avengers.Due to the Super Soldier Serum, Rogers posses peak human strength, speed, stamina, agility, durability, healing, mental process, senses, and logetivity. Rogers is also a master strategist an advance military operator, is multi-lingual, and is a master martial artist, acrobat, and marksman. He wields a circular shield made from a adamantium-vibranium alloy, rendering it indestructible.

Reason for Casting: I've seen that Winchester as become quite a popular pick for Thor. However, after seeing his work on Strike Back, I can't help but see him as Cap. He has the tough, military look to him, and posses the grit, toughness, and leadership qualities to pull off Cap, and hive us a performance that would rival Chris Evan's.

Villains:

Matthew Lillard (ScreamTHe Descendants) or Sharlto Copley (Elysium, Malficient) as Cletus Kasady/Carnage: A psychopathic serial killer who was bonded to the "offspring" of the Venom symbiote, and was imprisioned at Ravencroft Asylum. However, he soon broke out and began his murdering spree. The Carnage symbiote grants Cassidy powers similar to Spider-Man's, but he posses physical strength greater than Spiderman and Venom's combined. The symbiote can also see from any direction on Kasady's body, and can also turn his arms into various bladed weapons such as axes.

Reason for Casting: I've decided to include boh of my Carnage picks since I can't decide which one is better. Anyway, Lllard is tall at 6' 3" and can play a scary psychopath with a sense of humor as seen in Scream. Copley, on the other hand, is another story. Around the time after The A-Team, a lot of people started to cast Shartlo Copley as the Joker or Carnage due to the fact he played crazy, but I didn't really see the potential of it. While he did play crazy, Copley played a goofy crazy rather than a scary crazy. However, this opinion of him changed once I saw Elysium, where he played a psychotic, ax-crazy, unhinged, and downright [frick]ing terrifying Agent Kruger. Almost every scene he's in, he's either awesome, or piss-your-pants scary. That proved to me that Copley would make a [frick]ing awesome Carnage.

Lena Headey (300: Rise of An EmpireLowdow) as Frances Barrison/Shriek: An inmate at the Ravencroft Asylum, who joins Caranage on his killing spree as his "squeeze". SHirek's abilities include flight, being able to tap into people's minds and bring out their inner darkness, and sonic manipulation, including shielding herself with a sonic field and firing sonic energy blasts from her hands.

Reason for Casting: I've casted Headey as Maria Hill beofre, but she also fits this role as well. If you've seen her as Ma Ma in Dredd, then you know that Headey can play sexy, scary, and insane. All of these words fit the criterea for Shriek.

Dee Bradley Baker (Adventure TimeLeft 4 Dead 2) as Doppelganger: An evil, near-mindless duplicate of Spiderman created by Magus, and who is under the control of the Demogoblin. Doppelganger possees Spider-Man's strengh, speed, wall-crawling abilities, and spider-sense. It also posses six arms, claws, fangs, and the ability produce razor-edged webbing.

Reason for Casting: If you've seen Bradley's work on Ben 10 or the Gears of War games, then you now he;s very good at making animal noises. He'd be good as Doppelganger.

Tim Curry (LegendThe Cat Returns) as Demogoblin: A demonic being who was fused with Jason Macendale. Demogoblin posses superhuman strength, stamina, agility, reflexes, and resistance to injury. He also controls a goblin glider made of hellfire and can also project hellfire out of his hands. Demogoblin also carries two types of pumpkin bombs. Orange ones are normal concussive and expolsive grenades while black ones causes their target to be overwhelmed by feelings of despair and helplessness.

Reason for Casting: I couldn't find any real actor that would do this role justice, so I decided to go with a voice actor for the role. If you've seen some of Curry's work, then you know he's good at doing deep and demonic voices that fit somebody like the Demogoblin perfectly.

Steve Buscemi (GhostworldBoardwalk Empire) as Malcom McBride/Carrion: A university rival of Miles Warren who gained access to a sample of his mutated DNA. Carrion has superhuman strengh and durability, and can desinengrate organic matter to ash by simply touching it.

Reason for Casting: I'm glad that Steve now has a steady job on Boarwalk Empire, since I felt bad for him that he had to sell away his dignity in Adam Sandler movies (I admit that I do not like Adam Sandler's films). Anyway, besides being a great actor, Steve has that creepy, odd, bug-eyed look that fits Carrion perfectly.

Please leave your thoughts and comments below. I'll try to have another cast up soon.

Not a bad cast, I'm still not a fan of Lillard, at all. But overall it's a good cast and does tell it's story.

- Nice to see you return with your old picks from your more recent Spider-Man cast!
- Thanks for giving me props for your Cloak and Dagger picks. I think tweeeeenkies3 was the first one to cast AJ Michalka as Dagger, but her background and acting would be perfect regardless.

Overall, a fantastic cast. Can't wait to see what you have in store for next time!

Really Cool Casting, MrBlueSky@!

Some really fantastic picks!

Especially Steve Buscemi and Sharlto Copely!

Your SPIDER-MAN (A GROWN UP SPIDER-MAN) is an amazing actor and a solid choice.

MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD would make an entirely accurate (and drop dead gorgeous) MARY JANE. Hollywood's choices for MARY JANE are terrible fits...
DUNST and WOODLEY. MARY JANE is a freakin' SUPERMODEL, fer cryin' out loud!

I prefer SHARLTO COPELY for CARNAGE over LILLARD.
SHARLTO fits the "dangerously crazy".

I've got WITWER for NAMOR where I think he would be ideal, he strongly resembles NAMOR and also fits THE SUBMARINER'S persona.
But WITWER could really portray VENOM as well.

Your CLOAK & DAGGER are excellent choices, especially ALDIS HODGE.
ALDIS would also make an excellent T'CHALLA.

WINCHESTER as CAP is a total fit.

Indeed, Very Cool Casting!

@ThanosKing Dude, I only deleted your comment because my cast wasn't ready.

@DoctorAlgernopKrieger Thanks, and sorry that you don't like Lillard.

@GliderMan Glad you like my Black Cat pick.

@RoadDogXXIV Thanks for commenting. I can't wait to see your next cast.

@MightyZeus and SwanRonson Thank you.

@l0rdleg0las I can't see Ritchison as Brock. Sure he's ripped, but he doesn't look intimidating enough.

And the "Witwer Crush" thing is because he fits a variety of roles.

BTW, people need to get over TWILIGHT.
Some very good actors are in it.
Actors should not be dissed just because they acted in that horrible franchise.

They're professional actors who got paid to star in that series.
Pro actors who have done fine jobs in other movies!

It's silly to diss actors for just one movie or movie series.

Come On People, Let It Go Already!!!

@DDD Great to hear from you again, and I'm glad that you love the cast! And thank you for telling everybody to grow up and stop dissing actors because of one teenage marketed franchise.

I HAD TO say it, MBS@!

It's gotten a bit ridiculous here on CBM.

Please, just stop the madness folks!

I actually like Maximum Carnage as a modern-day morality play, and you did a great job casting it! Nice one!

A few of your actors are going to be appearing in some of my fancasts too:
-Lena Heady will be Maggie Weston in the live-action Exosquad
-Sam Witwer will be Angelo Dante in Robotech 2: The Masters
-Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be Maia Sterling in Robotech 4: The Shadow Chronicles

Also, fitting that you cast Dushku as Black Cat, since she did voice Catwoman in Batman: Year One. There's one character missing from this fancast though--where's the Michael Collins version of Deathlok?

Sorry for taking so long. I was on vacation, so I just got your email.

Your cast is well done. I am not a huge fan of Elijah as Spider-Man, but then again, I'm not exactly a fan of the character. I just feel like there might be someone better for the role, but that's just me.
Everyone else, though, I really like. Especially Black Cat and the Cloak and Dagger duo, as you probably know. Your villain castings are spot on, as well. So great work, man.

Keep up the great work!
