How to build the DCCU

What I think will make a successful DCCU...

Since I heard about the casting of Ben Affleck, my mind has started to pop out ideas of how to make a successful DCCU. There are three steps to making a successful one.

First step: Don't go right to Justice League movie, do solo's first. A lot of people will say you are doing the same as Marvel but that is really the only way for it work and make SENSE. Imagine you go right into a JL film after Batman vs Superman, The Director has to explain at least Wonder Women's, Flash's and Martian Manhunter/w origin. That will take up a good chunk of the movie and leave us with a crappy movie. DC already started with MOS now they are making Batman vs Superman. I think this is a good move because it introduces the new Batman and already starts his and Superman's relationship. After Bat vs Supes a Wonder Women and Flash movie is needed. The reason they are needed is because there has never been a movie about them so the GA knows nothing about them. Release WW in 2016 and Flash in 2017 (maybe 2016 if WB really wants to get a JL film in 2017) You don't want to take up a chunk of the audiences time in JL by explaining them personally instead the JL movie should be a origin movie for the actual TEAM.

Step Two: Cast good actors in roles but not good actors who will only do 2 or 3 films. Now I don't mean they have to star in ten films but they should be willing to star in their own characters trilogy and a JL trilogy. What WB also needs to do is cast older famous actors in supporting roles, kind of like Tommy Lee Jones in Captain America and Anthony Hopkins in Thor. Maybe start of doing this with maybe getting Robert De Niro as Carmine Falcone or Harrison Ford in a role. That will get more audience members and also will probably make you movie a little better in acting. Also now that Ben Affleck is Batman this opens a lot of doors for casting. He could possibly bring in Matt Damon, Jennifer Gardner, Jeremy Renner etc. That will really help your film because you will have really famous people in your movie and that will get more audience members. He also most likely direct the Batman movies so that will also attract many actors because he's got two oscars!

Step Three: Hire Directors who know something about the characters and has passion for the subject. Having a Director that knows something about what their making is so important. If you don't hire a Director like that then you end up with a bunch of Green Lantern quality movies (you don't want that!) My list of Directors would be like this:

Superman and JL: Zach Snyder
Batman: Ben Affleck ( He is an exception)
Wonder Woman: Katherine Bigelow
Green Lantern: Joseph Kosinski
Flash: Rain Johnson
Martian Manhunter(if they want to) : Ridley Scott

Well those are my ways to building a successful DCCU. Hope you like if not please don't be cruel it is my first time but I am fine with constructive criticism. THANKS!

I think Wonder Woman, the Flash and Aquaman could hold their own movie before a JL movie. Reintroduce Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter in JL.

WB had tryouts for the role of Batman, and Affleck passed. They obviously saw something in him otherwise they wouldn't have casted him. Who knows probably he had really good chemistry with cavill or pulled off a really good Batman/Bruce Wayne in the tryouts. Plus they just got a really good director for their DC films its a win win.

I have the opposite idea for the DCU, team up films first with one or two single films to build up towards the Justice League.

1. After Man Of Steel, a Worlds Finest film where DC introduces Batman. No origin story for Batman just take the Tim Burton route.

2. A Trinity film. Bats, Supes, and Wonder Woman team up film. DC can use this film to introduce Wonder Woman.

3. A flash film. After gathering a huge following from his new tv show for a big box office return on his first outing on the big screen. The show should come out on 2014 or 2015 giving him enough time to get a big fan base so it can payoff at the box office

4. The Justice League, DC can introduce a new Green Lantern or the same GL on this movie. Another option is that DC can take out a reboot of Green Lantern before the JL.

5. Wonder Woman film. After appearing in two team up films Trinity, and JL the general audience will be familiar enough with her to show up at the theater for a solo film of Wonder Woman.

Other great casting choices from WB in no particular order

Heath Ledger AKA the Joker
Mark Strong AKA Sinestro
Jackie Earle Haley AKA Rorschach
Hugo Weaving AKA V
Billy Crudup AKA Doctor Manhattan
Michael Keaton AKA Batman
Christopher Reeve AKA Superman
Henry Cavill AKA Superman
Antje Traue AKA Faora
Anne Hathaway AKA Catwoman
Liam Neeson AKA Ras al Ghul
Michael Caine AKA Alfred
Michael Duncan AKA Kilowag
Geoffrey Rush AKA Tomar-Re
Temuera Morrison AKA Abin Sur
Michelle Pfeiffer AKA Catwoman
Ryan Reynolds Green AKA Lantern
Christian Bale AKA Batman
Josh Brolin AKA Jonah Hex
Gary Oldman AKA Gordon
Morgan Freeman AKA Lucius Fox
I can go on, and on and on but I don't have the time to do all of them

All I'm trying to say is watch the finished product first before you Marvel Tweens pass judgement.

I really wish I knew how to write one of these editorials. But I dont so I will have to give my views on this one. What needs to happen at the end of Superman Batman is that the White Martians land in Coastal City and that The Martian Manhunter interupts a Superman and Batman training session and tells how his planet has been overrun and he tells a little of his story Before being interupted by a mad hell Green Lantern who Thinks that Jon Jonzz is responsible for Mars being decimated. With it ending explaining that Latern feels guilty that he is the protector of this sector and explains his limited origin on where he was while Zod was invading Earth. The Justice League movie should be a Martian Manhunter semi origin story. with the bulk of the action taking place with the JL. and in the opening of the JL we should show Flash and fighting in Coastal City with Wonder woman coming through to help him while she is showing off Badass the numbers are just too much for her and Flash. Which would leave the MM, GL, Supes, and BAts. coming to save them which is our first meeting and grouping of the JL and after fighting together they get to the bottom of the threat

They don't need a Flash movie first (I still think it will flop.) Do a Wonder Woman film, then Justice League. Have the Flash TV show be part of the universe, and that takes care of his origin (maybe show a very brief flashback for those who didn't watch the tv show.) That gives you 4. Introduce either Green Lantern, Aquaman, or maybe even Cyborg in Justice League (you might even get away with 2 out of the 3, but I definitely don't think you should have more than 6 members, and I really think for the first Justice League that 5 would be best. You can increase it to 7-8 in the next film.) Do NOT put Martian Manhunter in the first film (sorry, but I just don't see him being accepted by general audiences. That's why I mentioned maybe including Cyborg, because I think that maybe general audiences would understand and identify a little better with him.)

Why is it that many of you automatically assume that there will always be trilogies? Getting one good solo film out of some of these characters is enough, or maybe 2. You don't have to automatically go for trilogies.

Finally, @SotoJuiceMan, sorry but I just don't think a movie based off a video game would work. How many movies based off of video games are really successful? I can't think of any that were truly blockbusters. Lara Croft did okay, but nowhere near TDK success. And having more than 2, maybe 3 at absolute most, villains in a movie is just too much. Fanboys might love it, but I don't think general audiences would.
