Scientist Jalila Essaidi is taking the milk from genetically modified "Spider Goats” and somehow using it to make our skin bulletproof.
This all started because a man has been trying to find countless of ways to be able to harvest large quantities of spider silk because of its incredible strength but given they are so small in quantity it is a problem. Researchers at the University of Wyoming have been experimenting adding the "Spiders" dragline silk gene into the goats in a way that goats could only make the protein in their milk. Then comes the idea to extract the protein from the milk and have the usable spider silk, and in large quantities problem solved okay
now comes the bulletproof part
Jalila Essaidi project is called "2.6g 329m/s" as 2.6 grams and 326 meters a second are the maximum weight and velocity of a .22 calibre Long Rifle bullet from a Type 1 bulletproof vest should protect you according to Jalila. She isn’t trying to create or improve a better bulletproof vest,Its formed by layers of spider silk matrix between two layers of human tissue.
Jalila's bulletproof human project/prototype did stop some partially slowed bullets but not the one at full speed. But even with the skin pierced by the bullet the experiment is a succes.& she's getting closer to her goal. Essaidi’s plans are ultimately much more grand, too — she’d like to replace the keratin in our skin with spider silk, so that our bodies could produce our own armor
I think its pretty cool whats shes doing as long as she not working with OSCORP lol
(so what do you guys think???)
