Well hi there. My name is Chris, and I've been drawing all my life. I think I was 3 when I picked up my first pencil and drew a stick figure sliding down a 3d spiral slide.
Pretty hard to imagine right? Well, its true. Granted I was no Adam Hughes when I was in the crib, and it was a struggle, sure. I've only been around for a quarter of a century, and I've been floating on these boards for a while. I figured I should announce myself to the general public or something like that.
So, why I posted this. I'm an artist, like I said, and I draw a lot of things. I grew up reading X Men and pretty much anything Marvel could pump out. I always thought the art was kind of bland, but when the 91 series came out with Lee's artwork, I was blown away. I loved the insane amount of detail and from that moment on I decided to forsake my Mother's desire to see me be a Fine Artist mimicking Picasso, and become a comic book illustrator.
Its been an interesting journey, but in 2005 I got my first job drawing a comic professionally. It was a small company, and its probably still around, but I dreamed bigger. I wanted to work in the big names. So, I started drawing as many superheros as I could. I did a lot of conceptual work, I went to college and my teachers loved my ability to storyboard.
Oh look I drew Ghostrider. I enjoyed making this little sketch.
So, what am I getting at? Well, I never did get into Marvel, or DC. I kind of just stopped trying when the economy went to poop. I figured comic book artists were the least desired jobs in the falling times. Its high time I try again, since things are supposedly picking up and all these movies are taking off.
I even thought about getting a job in the movies doing conceptual work...
Its not done, and I didn't want to share the whole thing, but its Doomsday. Again, its a work in progress.
Plus I enjoy drawing anything, like I said, so I drew Slimer to say hi.
So, like I said, hi. Hopefully you'll see more of my work in the future!
