Ok, the fancast first.
DAREDEVIL
Michael C. Hall
Hall stars in Showtime's Dexter, and is a superb actor at the menacing, dark hero Daredevil needs to be.
PUNISHER
Ray Stevenson
Yeah, he played Castle in Punisher: WarZone, which I thought was one of the few bright spots in the movie. You could tell he care immensely for the character and it showed. He deserves another shot.
ELEKTRA
Anne Hathaway
Alright, you may think this is an unorthodox choice, but if anyone has seen Rachel Getting Married, they know what an intense actress Hathaway can be.
LUKE CAGE
Erik King
He acted alongside Michael Hall in Dexter, as one of the few police officers of whom Dexter gave "the creeps." He has the build, the look, and certainly the chops to play the Power Man. Plus his chemistry with Hall onscreen is incredible.
MOON KNIGHT
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
A lot of people want him to take over Heath Ledger's role as the Joker, but I'd rather Crispin Glover. Levitt is phenomenal in everything he does, from 10 Things I Hate About You, to 500 Days of Summer. He could easily pull off Spector's multiple personalities as the unhinged vigilante.
Now onto the villains...
KINGPIN
Ray Winstone
He's a fan favorite, for obvious reasons. I think he should get a shot at being Wilson Fisk. If the argument is he's too short, there are tricks to get around that.
JIGSAW
Matt Bomer
Yeah, I know I cast him as Superman, but watching White Collar the other night, the thought of him becoming horribly scarred and darkly insane struck me as a good idea.
Supporting characters...
FRENCHIE
Gerard Depardieu
FOGGY NELSON
Sean Astin
This one was a no brainer. Astin would be a spot on as Foggy, and give Favs a run for his money ;-)
DET. MARTIN SOAP
Matthew Perry
Now, before you laugh, call me an idiot and a failed abortion for this, think about my logic. Soap wouldn't be a bumbling, clumsy doofus, but instead an honest cop who gets the bad rep for being a straight-arrow. He's frustrated with the political games of the police department. Perry has a deadpan humor that would be great for Soap, plus, he has ventured into more serious media, such as Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
Whew, that's the cast of Marvel Knights. now the reason i think this would be a good idea:
For years we have seen failed attempts of these so called "B-List" characters to get a CBM. We have seen Frank Castle grace the silver screen 3 times, each time a reboot of the last.
Daredevil and Elektra were panned, and despite what high points there may have been, failed to materialize it's deserved sequel.
Moon Knight has been speculated about a lot in recent years, even a TV show, but nothing more than whispers.
Luke Cage has been talked about practically since the first days of X-Men and Blade.
What we should do is introduce these characters in this gritty, noir style film (similar to Sin City [with color] and the Spirit [without sucking of course]) Have it similar to X-Men, where a new character (Punisher) is brought to an already assembled team and asked to help stop the bad guys.
All we really need to go somewhat in depth with is Luke Cage and Moon Knight, however, those can be alluded to in the film. This would lead to spin offs of each of the characters. Finally these "B-List" heroes will be on the screen, and if enough attention is brought to the gritty movie, then there will be more to come, without having to do an origin movie every time.
Anyways, tell me what you think. I know it's a lot to take in lol.
