Bizarre Concept Art From The Scrapped JURASSIC PARK IV

Bizarre Concept Art From The Scrapped JURASSIC PARK IV

A fourth Jurassic Park is said to be in the works, but the following human/dinosaur hybrid concept designs are from the version that was planned with the John Sayles script from a few years back that never saw the light of day. Probably not hard to see why..

These concept designs from artist Carlos Huante are from the John Sayles scripted version of Jurassic Park IV that we will never see. That story featured these genetically engineered human-dinosaur-dog hybrids (di-hu-ogs) that were also super smart gun-toting mercenaries. Now don't get me wrong, I actually think some of the designs are pretty cool, and the idea sounds like it could make for a good movie, but a Jurassic Park movie? Nobody seems too sure how far into production the movie actually got, but according to Huante as soon as the Amblin Entertainment brass saw these designs, they shut down the project almost immediately..

As I said, there is currently another Jurassic Park IV script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver out there (probably not featuring gun-toting T-Rexs) but no solid info on when or if it will go into production.

I remember reading about this a few years back, and reading the details over the phone to my friend. We both died laughing.
As much as this looks like the worst idea ever, I can't help but want to see it excruciatingly badly.

Wait, is that a T-Rex/human crossbreed with proportionate-length arms and presumably higher intelligence than its stumpy-armed brethren?
...well, humanity had a good run

This actually looks pretty intriguing. But i admit, as a huge fan of the first 3 films (mainly the first 2) this concept definitely would not have fit in well with the franchise.

I'm with Grif. This is completely ridiculous and I couldnt imagine the JP people thinking this would be a good idea.

is there really a clamoring for another jurassic park film?

didn't they already say all that needed to be said about genetically engineered dino's in the first 3 films?

wasnt "A sounds of thunder" kind of like that (except with time travel). I never understood why the average rating on the movie was so low...the movie wasn't great but it was a fun movie to watch...may i liked it because i tend to love time travel movies

Di-hu-ogs??? Who in their right mind would want to make a theme park full of gun totting dinos? How big would the guns be and what purpose would they have been made for. As intriguing as it sounds, I still think it was just too much.

This reminds me of Alien: Resurrection. The human/alien hybrid, the dinosaur/human hybrid. Resurrection was a bad film and if this were made it would've been bad too.

Well, either The Amazing Spiderman took these designs and made them look less like rape victims or these are as effed up as it can get.

Amblin Entertainment made a very smart decision. This movie would've killed the JP movie franchise!

Human-dino hybrid mercenaries for a JP movie? LOL! What the hell were these people thinking!?

I question the legitimacy of this. Maybe I'm wrong, but I also doubt it got this far along in the design process before it got shut down.
