Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot has faced its fair share of setbacks, including the loss of original director Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and a release date delay. However, the movie is starting to take shape with Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springe penning the screenplay, and WandaVision's Matt Shakman now at the helm.
All signs point to Jon Krasinski not returning as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, meaning we have no idea who will play Marvel's First Family in the MCU.
Thanks to a reliable social media scooper, we may know who Marvel Studios wants for at least one of them.
According to @MyTimeToShineH - who has a proven track record - Ambulance and Bloodshot star Eiza González is the current top choice to play Susan Storm, a.k.a. The Invisible Woman. The actress has impressed on screen in a number of movies, but this movie would put González on the map and serve as arguably the biggest role of her career.
She's Mexican, so we're assuming Marvel Studios is looking to also cast an actor of South American descent to play the MCU's Johnny Storm/Human Torch.
As expected, it sounds like we can look forward to Silver Surfer playing a key role in Fantastic Four as Marvel's First Family sets off on a cosmic adventure. That's a great way to move on from the previous, far-too-grounded, adventures that Fox's two interpretations of the team embarked on. However, it sounds like Galactus is being saved for a sequel!
All of this is just a rumour for now, of course, but we'd be shocked if this isn't yet another "MyTimeToShineHello" scoop that winds up being proven correct.
Fantastic Four is set to be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.
