Matthew Vaughn Wants To Atone For 2015's FANTASTIC FOUR By Making A New Version

Matthew Vaughn was a producer on Josh Trank's failed Fantastic Four reboot back in 2015 and the Kingsman: The Golden Circle director has now revealed that he'd like to take a crack at the franchise.

There was a time when we thought Matthew Vaughn was going to direct Fox's Fantastic Four reboot but the filmmaker instead chose to work on Kingsman: The Secret Service and ended up serving only as a producer on the project. Chronicle's Josh Trank obviously ended up taking the helm of the movie and...well, things went horribly wrong and it ended up being both a critical and commercial flop.

Since then, we've heard conflicting reports about what's next for Fantastic Four including a Doctor Doom solo outing and a kid-friendly movie which takes place from Franklin Richards' point of view.

Well, Vaughn has now revealed that he wants to take a crack at Marvel's First Family...mostly to make amends with disappointed comic book fans. "I wouldn’t mind maybe making a Fantastic Four film to apologize to everyone out there that maybe it didn’t go very well for them," he revealed. "It’s brilliant. One of my favorites is the Fantastic Four, so maybe one day I’ll try and rectify the mistake."

Rumour has it that Vaughn could end up taking the helm of Man of Steel 2, so Superman could wind up being more appealing than the Fantastic Four. Which project would you like to see him take charge of? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this news in the comments section down below.

@IcemanX - I like Vaughn but unless Marvels involved I have no urge to see another F4. I am interested in the Doom movie though.

Would like to see his take if he's truly a fan and is going to both write and direct.

@xstryker - I wouldn't mind if George R R Martin was to write and produce. Then Vaughn or someone else to direct. George is also a very big fan of F4. Think he could make a great version.
Or Inhumans movie.

@Unavailable - Yeah, but if Martin wrote it, he'd probably make Sue and Johnny bang.

@Unavailable - In my opinion "Inhumans" go hand-in-hand with the FF. They almost had no stories strictly about themselves for decades, they were always a subplot.
At this point I wish Fox would either go all out and do a true fantastic four movie respecting the source material, then what they had presently been proposing. If they can't do that just give it back to Marvel I'm sure they can come to a fair agreement. The rights to have value, Fox just shorted try to rape them over it

How about we give FF a few years break, give Silver Surfer and Galactus back to Marvel, and make a Silver Surfer "Parable" movie.
