There was a time when we thought Matthew Vaughn was going to direct Fox's Fantastic Four reboot but the filmmaker instead chose to work on Kingsman: The Secret Service and ended up serving only as a producer on the project. Chronicle's Josh Trank obviously ended up taking the helm of the movie and...well, things went horribly wrong and it ended up being both a critical and commercial flop.
Since then, we've heard conflicting reports about what's next for Fantastic Four including a Doctor Doom solo outing and a kid-friendly movie which takes place from Franklin Richards' point of view.
Well, Vaughn has now revealed that he wants to take a crack at Marvel's First Family...mostly to make amends with disappointed comic book fans. "I wouldn’t mind maybe making a Fantastic Four film to apologize to everyone out there that maybe it didn’t go very well for them," he revealed. "It’s brilliant. One of my favorites is the Fantastic Four, so maybe one day I’ll try and rectify the mistake."
Rumour has it that Vaughn could end up taking the helm of Man of Steel 2, so Superman could wind up being more appealing than the Fantastic Four. Which project would you like to see him take charge of? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this news in the comments section down below.
