A Few Words From Mads Mikkelsen on Clash of the Titans

The Danish actor is in high demand, starring as both a Viking and a classical Greek warrior in upcoming films!

Already famous in Europe, Mads Mikkelsen first gained wide recognition in America for his turn as 007's nemesis in Casino Royale, but now he's set to star in a whole slate of movies, including the Viking saga Valhalla Rising, in which he plays a one-eyed mute man-killer, and the highly-anticipated remake of Clash of the Titans.

For Valhalla, Mikkelsen starved himself to get that "skinny prison look," but he beefed up for his role as Draco in Clash of the Titans. He described his character as a "long-haired, full-blooded guy, a classical Greek warrior." While the work-outs and sets were tough at times, what Mikkelsen said was really difficult was filming opposite invisible oponents:

"It’s always easier to have something there, something or someone you can act to, it goes without saying. But after a while, you find a way of doing it. And it’s really hard to find those big scorpions these days."

Clash of the Titans Synopsis:

Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus ( Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

Yes, the person who gets to 500 votes first wins. That's how it's always been.

I'm taking some of this from Brent a bit, but if a wrestler pins the other first and the bell sounds, but after that the loser knocks out the winner and "pins" him, does it change who won? No, it doesn't.

Lee we all agree DDL would knock red skull out of the park, but come on.DDL is a 2 time oscar winner, Mads is an up and coming actor. Hes a very talented actor, and deserves some recognition.Red Skull will do just that.

LEEE777 - 9/19/2009, 2:02 PM
Just saying more ppl want DDL lol! An they should too, he's perfect for the part, an its just BS if you say he wont do it or the parts not worthy of him lol, MARLON BRANDON did JOR-EL, JACK NICHOLSON did THE JOKER, etc etc, an there's loads of OSCAR actors doing comic book roles lol!

Anyway off the subject of RED SKULL, TITANS looks the nuts!!!

An better still ol' WORTHINGTON'S in it heh heh! ; D

Has someone already seen Valhalla Rising? Is it in English? I did Vikings, so I would like to check it out.

As for Mads, I only know him as Le Chiffre (sp?) in Casino Royale. He was menacing, but kind of a punk, in my mind.

If someone wants to see Mikkelsen´s other movies they should Watch the Pusher Trilogy. Its a Danish movie about a danish drug dealers. Whole Trilogy is almost like a story of real life gangsters and its very brutal. And is directed by Nicolas Winding Refn who also directed movies like Bronson and Valhalla Rising. Which by the way is f*cking bad-ass!!.

Ps. Valhalla Rising is in English.
