Magic isn't all fun and games in Syfy's The Magicians, something that Quentin Coldwater and his friends learned when confronting the malevolent Beast at the conclusion of season 1.

With Julia betraying the group in favour of seeking revenge, and the remaining cast set to become kings and queens of Fillory after narrowly surviving, there's plenty of new story direction for season 2 of the adaptation of Lev Grossman's novels. A new featurette released by Syfy has given fans a look into the journey the characters will be taking this season, which you can check out below!

Season 2 of The Magicians will premiere on Syfy on January 25, 2017.

Based upon Lev Grossman's best-selling books, The Magicians stars Jason Ralph (A Most Violent Year, Aquarius) as Quentin Coldwater, a brilliant grad student who enrolls in Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic. He and his 20-something friends soon discover that the magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real— and poses grave danger to humanity. Stella Maeve (Chicago P.D.), Hale Appleman (Teeth), Arjun Gupta (Nurse Jackie) and Summer Bishil (Towelhead, Lucky 7) also star in this one hour drama.

I really enjoy this show. The kills are pretty brutal.

@Fun1gUy - My lady has read the books, and really wanted me to watch this...so I went in to the first season knowing nothing, and I was pleasantly surprised at how excellent it was.

I wish Mass Effect 2 and 3 lived up to the story potential from the first one. I loved that universe as I played it. Loved the alien designs, the worlds, the politics, the history. Just such a solid setting, and then the story turned to wank... I mean, not complete wank, but definitely not up to the potential set in the first game. Also the somber mood and the soundtrack just really worked together so perfectly...

Looks like we may be getting the questing beast and that epic fight between Alice and Martin. Can't wait for it to come back next month.
