Official synopsis:

Part 1 begins as Harry (Daniel Radcliffe, Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort’s (Ralph Fiennes) immortality and destruction — the Horcruxes. On their own, without the guidance of their professors or the protection of Professor Dumbledore (Michael Gambon), the three friends must now rely on one another more than ever. But there are Dark Forces in their midst that threaten to tear them apart.

Meanwhile, the wizarding world has become a dangerous place for all enemies of the Dark Lord. The long-feared war has begun and Voldemort’s Death Eaters seize control of the Ministry of Magic and even Hogwarts, terrorizing and arresting anyone who might oppose them. But the one prize they still seek is the one most valuable to Voldemort: Harry Potter . The Chosen One has become the hunted one as the Death Eaters search for Harry with orders to bring him to Voldemort ... alive.

Harry’s only hope is to find the Horcruxes before Voldemort finds him. But as he searches for clues, he uncovers an old and almost forgotten tale — the legend of the Deathly Hallows. And if the legend turns out to be true, it could give Voldemort the ultimate power he seeks.

Little does Harry know that his future has already been decided by his past when, on that fateful day, he became "the Boy Who Lived." No longer just a boy, Harry Potter is drawing ever closer to the task for which he has been preparing since the day he first stepped into Hogwarts: the ultimate battle with Voldemort.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 opens November 19; Part 2 opens July 15, 2011!

@Intruder

I like Harry Potter Books and Movies as does my wife. Wanna take a shot at me too?

Harry Potter was written for children this is true. But I have found the best Adults are the ones who have not entirely forgotten they used to be kids themselves. The Potter books have reminded a whole lot of people of this very important fact. They also have inspired a whole generation to read. For that alone I would make JK a Saint.

Onto the posters...

Poor Dobby. Well Chad Vital you will be pleased to hear that Dobby dies in the end. He dies a Hero but he still dies. Happy now?

oh and another thing @intruder
I think it's very stupid to compare Harry Potter to Twilight,And to say the plot of Harry Potter(One of the best selling childrens books of all time)is shallow is even more stupid. What your saying is "I don't see what's so great about it,so the millons of people world wide that enjoy it must all be stupid."
StephenJ

I agree with Lee Mitchel and Legendary

@ Intruder

Everybody has a kid in them. We are on a comic book movie site and you ask someone
"What are you 12?!I suppose you think Stephanie Meyer is a great writer too?"

We are constantly talk about super heroes and what not. I must say that is childish on everyones part who ever comments on this site. (including me)

I am 19 and I have been a fan of Harry potter since the 3rd grade. It is a great story line and if you think otherwise then thats fine, but you attacking someone and saying "are you like 12" kinda contradicts your whole statement when we are on a comic book movie site. Just sayin
And Stephanie Meyer IS NOT a good writer, and those movies suck.

Harry Potter may be for children but it is still one of the greatest if not the greatest book series in modern day literature. JK Rowling is fantastic and people are just bitter. All the people saying it dumbs kids down are morons because it is such a well written book many colleges use it when telling students how to write.

Well, Tolkien, Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard are among my favourite authors, so maybe that gives my opinion at least a little weight, oh mighty Intruder...

Is harry Potter great literature? I don't think so. I think the books are lacking in many departments, and I really didn't like the last three books (the final one the least of all). When the first books came out I hated them with passion, because they sounded dumb and were overhyped.

Then my sister got old enough to be really interested into reading HP, so I finally gave in and gave it a try, too. I read the first book a few weeks before the fourth one was realeased - and much to my surprise I found it quite entertaining and... well, nice. I have since read all the books and watched all the movies (Prisoner of Azkaban being my favourite in both incarnations, only movie I watched on the big screen).

Are the Harry Potter books and movie for kids? - Yes.

Can adults enjoy them as well? - Yes.

Do I prefer kids reading Harry Potter over kids not reading at all? - Yes.

Would I rather see kids reading Tolkien, Lovecraft and Howard than Harry Potter? - Well, urm, not necessarily. Of course every kid should read The Hobbit, because The Hobbit is awesome! But being old enough to read and enjoy Harry Potter and the Philospoher's Stone does NOT equal being old enough to read and enjoy the Call of Cthulhu or the Silmarilion. But maybe Harry Potter can fuel some interest to delve into other fantastic worlds and stories.

Is it okay to compare Rowling/Potter with Meyer/Twilight? No. No, not at all. Because Twilight [frick]ing sucks. ;)

Urm, anyways, not really interested in the final two movies. I'll borrow the DVD from some friends. :P

I saw the heated discussion and decided to put in my two cents (which, is actually worse less than two cents). Although I, myself, am not interested in the newer Harry Potter books and movies, I do believe they are not to be compared to Twilight, under any circumstances. That's just....*shiver*
Harry Potter is not the greatest work of literature, or one of for that matter, but granted it is for kids. A child may not be able to completely comprehend more advanced works of literature, they need to start somewhere. It might as well be Harry Potter.

it's a light hearted and weirdly addictive read. It got alot of yoooooofs reading again, I (27 years old) loved the books. They were a great, fun read. They're utterly charming and JK Rowling is simply fabulous :)
Adults adn children/teens will have their opinion on them. YES there are a lot of similarities between Potter and other books like LOTR and even the disc world novels, but still, it's not that big a deal, they're enjoyable books! lighten up :)
