Portal 2, one of the most anticipated games of the year, was released today. So, it surprising that it didn't take long for someone to find a hidden interactive teaser for J.J. Abrams upcoming film, Super 8, within Valve's latest creation. Much like the first teaser trailer, the "playable" map named, "e1912", is set during the the train wreck that unleashes Abrams' monster. As you walk through the burning wreckage, you come to the familiar boxcar with the alien/monster breaking out (seen in the trailer below.)
It then cuts to the title of Abrams' film, Super 8. A video of the teaser is already online.
Both Valve and Abrams are known for their viral marketing and Easter eggs, but a team-up like this has caught the gaming community and film community off guard. Only they could pull off something like this.
Has anyone explored this level or is planning to? What do you think is hidden in the teaser? Clues regarding Super 8, Portal, or future Valve projects? (*cough* Episode 3 *cough*) Could Valve and Abrams be working on something together, or are they just up to their old tricks?
