G.I. JOE: RETALIATION Writers Preparing For Part Three; Want To Bring Back Baroness
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick share their thoughts on the success of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, revealing that they're already preparing for the third instalment and that one of their aims is to bring back the Baroness and do the character justice this time! Read on for details.
After its impressive debut at the worldwide box office, it didn't really surprise anyone when Paramount gave a third instalment of G.I. Joe the green light. Talking to IGN Movies, G.I. Joe: Retaliation writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick reportedly told the site that they are "actively in the process of breaking the story for the third film" despite not having officially been signed up to return...that we've heard of. When asked what they're planning on bringing to the follow-up, they stressed that Dwayne Johnson's 'Roadblock' is a must, but also let slip the fact that both Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes are "also likely to return". Additionally, the duo would like to give the Baroness another chance (the villainess was played by Sienna Miller in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra). As for the financial performance of Retaliation, they finished by telling the site: "It was made for $50 million less and is projected to make $100 more, so I’d call that a success." Expect more details on part three very soon and sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!
