Recently, it was revealed actor Ric Reitz had landed the role of the President of the United States in Martin Campbell's superhero adaptation Green Lantern. In this production still from the film's set we see Reitz ready to address the nation in regards to the apocalyptic worry caused by Parallax's destruction.

According to the first draft of the movie's script, this is the scene where a certain Golden Age hero was set to make a speech. No word yet if that scene will remain in the final cut of the film.

Green Lantern stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins, Angela Bassett and Temuera Morrison. The film is scheduled for release June 17th, 2011.

@weneed- Where does it say he's Mexican? Are you referring to the actor's appearance? His name? Because Reitz doesn't sound Latino to me. I know you're probably just kidding, but I'm confused. :/

@jazzman Exactly stereotypes are bad! Black people have been sterotyped for centuries. Sterotypes like "ALL black people are good athletes", "ALL black people listen to hip-hop", "ALL black men have huge @!&$'s", "ALL black people watch BET" and "ALL black people become president"! It's insulting!!?

Didnt the shows 24 and Prison Break have Women presidents? 24 also had a black president as well?

Who cares what the president looks like in a movie, white, black, latino, Indian, Asian, WHO CARES, ITS FICTION as long as they look presidential.

Only if someone is playing an actual President from the past like Lincoln or FDR (They get portrayed A LOT in movies is why I use them as examples) would matter

IMO best Fictional president ever played on film....Harrison Ford as President James Marshall in Air Force One

@jazzman it's hard(No Pun)having this big(No Pun) thing since birth, but you get used to it. Hey! Look at it this way. They have the cool eye colors like blue & green, and the nice hair, so God had to give us something to make up for these big a** lips, and nappy hair.(jokes)

On Topic: The should have had a Indian President. Now that would have turned some heads.

@Elijah Martin

if they had a Indian President most likely it will be Ben Kingsley. look at the pic of him everyone would be afraid of him.

@jazzman Didnt know yall were joking around. The reason I mentioned Indian prez is cause Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindel might run for the big office one day.

claybo4131 - 8/11/2010, 12:19 PM
@jazzman Yeah he got Louisiana out of the mess that both the former Gov. and Mayor of New Orleans did by not following protocol with Katrina. When Hurricane Ike was coming towards La. Jindel said GET OUT, unlike the previous Gov. and Mayor who were just sitting around playing pattycake. Like you said you didnt know who he was but hes real popular in La. is why I mentioned the Indian part (and yes he was born in the US)

i think the next big hollywood shock-president is gonna have to be a hispanic... but you never know they COULD go jew lol! i'm sure they're avoiding it because of all the "jews run hollywood" stuff, but the minorities that have made it into congress over here are mostly latinos and jews so it seems like the next step!
