Geoffrey Rush is back in the mode of demanding teacher — but instead of a king’s speech therapist, the Aussie actor will be Tomar-Re, a bird-beaked alien who teaches Ryan Reynolds’ character how to use his new cosmic powers in "Green Lantern."

Warner Bros. is expected to officially announce Thursday that the 59-year-old Oscar winner is giving voice to the CG-created member of the Green Lantern Corps.

As I'm sure you'll agree, this is a fantastic addition to the already impressive cast of the movie. What do you think of the choice to cast The King's Speech and Pirates of the Caribbean star as Tomar-Re? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

With an all star cast which includes Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, Blake Lively as Carol Ferris and Mark Strong as Sinestro, director Martin Campbell's Green Lantern is set to be released in 3D on June 17, later this year!
