This may not be new news, as it's been up for a few days now on the Wizard World website, but the Comic-Con in Austin, Texas is going to have a lot of celebrity guests in attendance. The latest addition is actor Nick Jones, the Marine-turned-actor who is playing John Stewart in next year's highly-anticipated "Green Lantern" film. He is going to be making some kind of big announcement at Comic-Con, according to his Facebook page, so if you don't have your tickets yet, get one now.

Other guest celebrities at the Austin Comic Con include Nicholas Brendon (Xander on "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer"), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian from the original "Star Wars" trilogy), Lou Ferrigno (the famous titled Green Goliath from the 1970s TV series "The Incredible Hulk"), and the Dynamic Duo of Adam West and Burt Ward (from the 1960s "Batman" TV series).

was it ever actually confirmed he was John Stewart? I know it was presumed because he is in a bar fight scene with Hal like in secret origins. If not this big announcement could be official confirmation of Stewart

@Twenty23Three - I don't know if it's confirmed, but that IS the photo they're using on the Wizard World website in promotion of Mr. Jones's confirmation as a celebrity guest. If he isn't John Stewart, Wizard's got some explaining to do, lol

Anyway, I've actually got my ticket, so I'll be there to see what's up and hopefully be present if there's any big news announcements and stuff. Then again, it IS Comic-Con, so how could there NOT be big news there?

it was not confirmed his playing John Stewart. if he played John Stewart its going to be a small role the fight in the bar it most likely hint that he is John Stewart but in future sequel they going recast for a name actor for the role of John Stewart.

that wouldn't make sense if he was recognize in this film as John Stewart but then recast.

If they're actually going to use Stewart in a sequel, they should just keep Nick Jones.

@telavizion they are GLs at the same time John just becomes one later. And currently Hal and John are partners in this sector.

i worked on this movie. That dude is not playing John Stewart... he was in a scene on our first day of shooting and had his picture taken with Ryan... he put it online... it got around that he was playing John Stewart and the guy is using the "I can't talk about my role" thing to perpetuate some publicity.

If he is playing Jhn Stewart, I wouldn't doubt he gets recasted for the sequel.
