There's been a lot of speculation about which members of the Green Lantern Corps the upcoming movie will focus on but now that Geoff Johns has signed on to write and produce the DC Comics adaptation, Warner Bros.'s plans for the franchise have become clear. On the official website for the newly launched Mad Ghost Productions banner, a brief synopsis confirms the movie's two leads.

"[One] of DC Comics’ greatest Super Hero universes, the film will feature Hal Jordan and John Stewart…" it teases, confirming past reports that Green Lantern Corps will revolve around the two heroes and not newer characters like Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz as has been rumoured lately. This is a solid choice by the Johns and the studio and one
fans are likely to respond to extremely positively.

It's also worth noting that The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the movie will be based on Johns' lengthy Green Lantern run. With that in mind, we can probably expect to see a number of other Corps introduced as well as a possible adaptation of the Sinestro Corps War. We'll just have to wait and see but things are finally looking up for this adaptation and we'll hopefully get a release date soon.

@RolandD - I'm not an expert on DC comics, but this seems like a solid choice

@FunkyCipher - In the meantime, Marvel will have introduced Nova Corps causing the casual comic book moviegoer of accusing the DCU of copying…

Do Sinestro corps War, don’t kill Sinestro, keep him around for a return in a sequel, build up the other corps, introduce more and more lanterns like Soranik and Kyle and Baz and Jessica, get into the Soranik and Sinestro relationship, Hal and Sinestro, have Paralax happen, and eventually build up to a Hal Jordan redemption just in time to help save the Earth in Blackest Night

@noahthegrand - Did your post imply they should do the emerald twilight storyline

You are a bold one.

@FunkyCipher - No thank you. When you have hundreds and hundreds of stories, maybe. When you have a few flicks, no time for that.

@RolandD - Well it would work for green lantern 4.

@FunkyCipher - I like your optimism. It’s not a storyline I am hoping to see; too much death and destruction. If they do the story, I want it clear that Hal was possessed.
