The first thing I thought when I saw this movie was, Is this really going to be worth it? I was really questioning it. But that thought would become more and more obsolete. The film really gets better as it progresses. It really grabs you. Ryan Reynolds was the perfect actor to play Hal. He expressed his humorous side that I had known him for in films like Van Wilder. The lovely Blake Lively gave a great performance as well. I was happy about Mark Strong's role as Sinestro. He was so good in films like Sherlock Holmes and Kick Ass. Though having few flaws in the story, it still isn't the best DC comics movie, either. I have to say it will never match the likes of The Dark Knight. The film has incredible potential to make some money. My guess is it will make around 90 and 120 million in earnings. The large fan base of Green Lantern will probably give it mixed reviews.

I was impressed with the effects. I was impressed with some things. The action scenes were great. I am not a huge fan of modern action films, but still thought the visuals were epic. The film opens with a voice narrating the background story. Pretty interesting. Then these aliens are eaten by fear. Than test pilot Hal Jordan receives the ring and is recruited to fight the "Unknown Enemy". In the process, charming his fellow test pilot Carol Ferris. That is just the basic story.

I was eagerly anticipating this film and sort of enjoyed it.I was somehow disappointed with it though. It was not as good as I expected. You are like, "Is that it? Is it really over?" It really didn't feel that long. It really left it open for a sequel. Hopefully it would be better. The ending feels like the goal had been achieved, but not achieved. It just happened so fast.
As for the overall storyline. It was OK. The Acting Was Pretty Good. It was Just OK.
My Overall Grade: C+
