GREEN LANTERN: Ryan Reynolds Watched The Movie For The First Time Last Night And Live Tweeted The Whole Thing

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds cracked open a bottle of Aviation Gin to watch Green Lantern for the first time last night, and the actor live Tweeted his thoughts on the 2011 movie from start to finish...

Green Lantern was released in 2011 to mostly negative reviews, and while mistakes were definitely made with the DC Comics adaptation, is it really as bad as some claim? However you happen to feel about the movie, there's no denying that Ryan Reynolds did the best job he possibly could as Hal Jordan.

Even now, many fans would like to see him return to that role (hence why there was so much excitement about him possibly appearing in Zack Snyder's Justice League), but the actor is a little too busy playing Deadpool right now. Regardless, Reynolds had never actually watched Green Lantern, but cracked open a bottle of Aviation Gin to do so for the first time last night.

What followed was an unmissable thread of Tweets which saw Reynolds highlight some of the movie's sillier moments, while also praising actors like Angela Bassett and the late Michael Clarke Duncan.

Ultimately, he concluded by saying, "Maybe it’s the Aviation Gin talking, but #GreenLantern was nothing to fear! Hundreds of incredible crew and cast members did amazing work - and while it’s not perfect, it ain’t a tragedy. Next time I won’t wait a decade to watch."

Check out some highlights from Reynolds' Green Lantern "Tweetalong" below:

I saw it in the cinema back in 2011.

Glad that Ryan thinks it isn't too bad.

Would have preferred a better villain, but Mark Strong as Sinestro was good!

The video game was entertaining too.

@Kumkani - yeah, since he never even saw it. How weird. How can you get a handle on how bad your movie is unless you watch it

@MutantEquality - when everyone you meet and everyone on the internet tells you that something you made is trash, you might believe it. he got a lot of hate for that film, probably weighs on people

Lol, I remember the post credits scene to this movie, as if they were gonna get a sequel with the Sinestro Corps.

I think the colour grade is the biggest sin. Its so dark and contrasty, of all the DC films this needs a bright Marvel look.
