It's widely believed that DC Films producer Charles Roven will start taking a back seat in this shared comic book universe moving forward but in a new interview, he name dropped a couple of characters he would like to bring to the Justice League that aren't traditionally considered DC Comics' "big guns." Interestingly, it took him no time at all to name drop a couple of popular characters fans want to see.
"I wouldn’t necessarily say that I would rather do that character, because we know that there is going to be a Flash movie, we know that Aquaman is being done," Roven said, reminding the site that the studio is currently working on a number of movies featuring lesser know heroes and villains. "I think that Cyborg deserves his own movie too, and I know that the fans are out there screaming for Green Lantern, that’s for sure. But I was always a fan of J’onn J’onzz, Manhunter from Mars."
Since when was Green Lantern not a heavy hitter? He should have been a founding member of the Justice League and Martian Manhunter probably should have made his big screen debut long ago!
We'll just have to wait and see but with no firm plans set for Justice League 2, who knows where these characters could pop up (Green Lantern Corps is said to be in the works but still has no release date so we have no idea what the status of that is).
