Miles Teller played Reed Richards in 2015's Fantastic Four, though no one could blame the actor for never wanting to step on the set of a superhero movie again. Like the rest of the cast, he had a terrible time working on Josh Trank's movie and there's no denying that playing Mister Fantastic hurt his career to some extent.
He's doing well now, though, and even expressed interest in taking on a comic book project while doing the rounds to promote Top Gun: Maverick.
Talking to ComicBook.com about his role in Netflix's Spiderhead, Teller addressed the frequent fan casts that see him as either Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) or Nova (Richard Rider). Both characters are coming to the big and/or small screen in the not too distant future, but what does Teller think?
"I haven't heard any of those rumblings yet, but I'm sure if they get loud enough, then I will hear," the actor acknowledged. "Yeah, for sure [I'd be down]. I love the fan base. I love the Marvel and DC fan bases and I love those movies as an audience member, and it seems they've taken these characters more and more seriously because the fans deserve it."
"There's nothing cheap about those characters," Teller continued, "and if the right thing came along I'd be open to it for sure."
While we'd hazard a guess that the actor isn't overly familiar with either character (definitely not Nova, anyway), it's good to see him not outright dismiss a Marvel or DC project. As mentioned, no one would blame Teller for taking a pass on the genre, but when there's so much he could bring to either world, we'll have to keep our fingers crossed that the right role eventually comes along.
Do you think he'd be a good fit for Green Lantern or Nova?
