Duncan Jones Gives His Take On How To Approach A GREEN LANTERN Movie
With yesterday's update on the Green Lantern Corps. film, numerous theories and ideas are being floated about on how it should be approached. Also weighing in is Moon and Warcraft director Duncan Jones.
Yesterday's update on the Green Lantern Corps. movie reaffirmed that the film would feature numerous Lanterns but would focus on Hal Jordan and John Stewart for a Lethal Weapon-esque, galactic space-cop adventure. However, it sounds as if director Duncan Jones thinks the film would be better served by focusing on a Lantern that sounds an awful lot like Guy Gardner.
The other thing Duncan would change is how the Green Lantern power ring works. Longtime readers of Green Lantern comics know that his ring often runs out of power about as often as Spider-Man runs out of web fluid. But Duncan thinks the better approach would be to have the ring require that its wielder create an original construct with each use, i.e. repeatedly creating giant baseball bats (a favorite of Hal) or simply firing a blast of energy (something John typically does) simply wouldn't work. Imagine someone like Guy forced to operate with this stipulation...
Do you find Duncan's idea interesting and think it would work on film? Let us know your opinion in the comment section below.
