MOONLIGHT Star Trevante Rhodes Responds To GREEN LANTERN CORPS Rumors With A Very Coy Smile

Even though red carpet interviews tend to be hit-or-miss, you'll want to check out Trevante Rhodes' reaction when asked to address rumors about his potential involvement in Green Lantern Corps!

Considering the top-secret nature of most superhero castings, it's rare to see many actors speaking out about their potential involvement in a project ahead of an official announcement and often times, even when asked, they'll do their best to dance around the subject matter - to varying results (see: Paul Rudd).

Speaking with MTV News, Rhodes became the latest up-and-coming actor to get asked about tackling a big-budget superhero movie, to which he replied: "That's everybody's dream, whenever you're a child, you're like 'I wanna be a superhero, I wanna be a superhero,' so in that regard, That is something that's really enticing, but more so because it puts my face in front of more people, who will want to [then] come and see a movie, like Moonlight, that I really care about," However, things got really interesting a short while later when MTV's correspondent Josh Horowitz asked him point blank about whether or not he'd heard anything about Warner Bros.' rumored Green Lantern search, and while he coyly replied with an "I don't know," it was his smile that told an entirely different story.

Check out his comments for yourself in the video below:

Green Lantern Corps is tentatively slated for release July 24, 2020

He's been my pick for awhile.

And it works with what WB is rumored to want: An seasoned Hal Jordan and a young Trevante Rhodes

@NoMeaning45 - Well now I'd also like to put a vote in for the guy from Get Out Daniel Kaluuya. Just wanna see more of him and think that would be a good start.

@Origame - I don't think he's right for John Stewart, and I'm pretty sure he's in Black Panther. That doesn't really stop him from being in a D.C. Movie, but I don't really know what character he would play.

@ALostCause - Just saying, don't take Rotten Tomatoes too seriously. But in this case, it's right. That movie's like if Hitchcock did a movie about racism. And it's up to his quality too.

@kong - To be fair we haven't seen him in much. But I also don't feel like a superhero role is that hard to pull off anyway and he's clearly got talent. If not that then something.

You guys also have to remember

Trevante was in the running for Black Manta.

Its not impossible that WB probably called him back up for another role.

Would definitely generate huge buzz for GL if he is playing John STewart.

Heard that Jake Gylenhaal may be Hal..

@Elayem - dceu leaks on reddit keep mentioning it.
Also we got that list of 6 actors a while back with Tom Cruise, Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gylenhaal as rumoured for Hal..

@JonTargaryen94 - I felt that list was instantly discredited when it listed Ryan Reynolds. And I don't trust reddit for news.
But who knows. I'd definitely love Gyllenhaal in the role.

@Elayem - You have to remember that WB really doesn't care, they also don't think we pay attention, so I could definitely see them considering Reynolds.

The humanity.
