An AVENGERS/GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Crossover? Not So Fast...

Pretty much all of us are convinced that Avengers: Infinity War is essentially going to be a team-up between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy, but according to James Gunn, that might not be the direction things are heading in...

Thanos will finally square off with The Avengers in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War, and ever since Guardians of the Galaxy was first announced, fans have been wondering when we'll see the two teams fighting side-by-side. That movie obviously seems like the logical place for them to meet, but just because all of these characters exist in the same universe, do they really all have to end up coming together somehow? When director James Gunn was asked whether or not Avengers: Age of Ultron will change the tone of the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, he replied: "We really are separate from the Avengers, and I don't think people should assume too many things about the Guardians play in all these. We have our own galaxy to take care of. We have our own galaxy to save. Earth is the Avengers’ province. Thinking that everything is going to come together in a perfect way is not necessarily the way it's going to happen." What do you guys think?

Lol. You would be kidding yourself if you think the Gurdians and Avengers arnt going to crossover. Marvel would not let that opportunity pass.

Honestly, I would prefer it if the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy did not crossover. I went to watch Guardians of the Galaxy with high hopes and left a little disappointed. I expected a better story, a better villain, and to like Rocket and Groot more than I ultimately did.

Well, if you watch the video he's talking about the tone of Guardians of the Galaxy 2. He's saying just because Age of Ultron is darker, doesn't mean Guardians 2 has to be darker. Context is everything.

I call bullshit, Marvel wouldn't turn down the opportunity to get these two teams together.

I think that they'll be in the first act of part one, and then the grand finale in part two.

I don't think Whedon or the Russos would want to handle the Guardians anyway. Unless they had Gunn on some consulting/writing level.

Well Mr. Gunn just wait till you get the memo from Disney and Mr. W and I am sure GOTG will be crossing over with The Avengers.

I could see them not crossing paths. They honestly could be fighting Thanos' army in different galaxies. I expect there to be other bad guy's that will take the attention of either team.

This is stupid. How it isn't true. I want to see Quill react to how different earth is than when he was a kid. Also Avengers can't take on Thanos themselves.

I think they will.. They have to, when you have Thanos in a fight, Drax is not far behind. Yes, earth is for the Avengers but Thor made it/them a Universe thing.. Last I checked there are galaxie"s" (plural) in the Universe, millions of them to be exact.

I see Infinity War being a battle starting from the Gotg's galaxy(what's the name of their galaxy?) to the moon(Inhumans) back to Earth(Avengers). Greatest fight in history.

Why couldn't you just enjoy the movie. The reason you could see them talking to the empty space is because you were looking for it
