Chris Pratt Talks GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

In an interview last night at the MTV Movie Awards, Star-Lord Chris Pratt gave his thoughts on his future within the MCU and Marvel's approach to their film-making in general.

At the MTV Movie Awards last night, star and Star-Lord, Chris Pratt revealed that he would very much like to continue playing the character for years to come.

"I hope people really like it, and I hope I get to play that character for a very long time," Pratt told MTV's Josh Horowitz. "I think Marvel's been very smart about projecting into the future and what they're putting on their slate. It's based on what people like, so we'll put this movie out there and see how people react to it. Who knows?"

Filming is now complete on James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, with the finishing touches being added by the director, and Pratt also gave his thoughts on the marketing strategy for the film.

"They're cutting it together and loving everything that they see," said Pratt. "They're being very careful about what they release and very smart about getting people excited without giving away what the movie's about and not giving away the best jokes or story. I think people are very fired up to see it, and don't know what to expect."

"That's the best way to see a movie," he went on. "If I'm really excited to see something, and I have no idea what I'm about to see, I love that. I think that can be a problem you get when you're dealing with [franchises where moviegoers] want to know everything about it."

It may come as no surprise that Pratt would like to continue his association with Marvel far into the future, the financial benefits are there for sure, just ask Robert Downey Jnr. But that surely depends on the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, perhaps Marvel's most risky feature to date. What do you guys think? We've only had a little footage so far, but would you like to see more of Pratt? And how much is too much when it comes to marketing and CBMs?

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.
