GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Story Trailer Reveals More About Star-Lord's Journey In The Upcoming Game

The new story trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy has been released, and it looks like we're in store for one heck of a ride as we follow Star-Lord into one of the team's craziest battles to date...

Eidos-Montréal has shared a new trailer that sheds a little more light on the out-of-this-world narrative adventure that awaits in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Set in the wake of an epic conflict known as the Galactic War, the game invites players to walk a lightyear in Peter Quill’s jet boots and lead his band of misfit heroes-for-hire across the cosmos in search of glory, riches and a way out of whatever mess they’ve gotten themselves into this time.

In this latest sneak peek, we see Grand Unifier Raker bring Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket and Groot to the Universal Church of Truth, where the Guardians bear witness to a cult-like ritual before the mysterious Matriarch. Grand Unifier Raker states that the Matriarch wishes to share with them a truth...one that can supposedly end all grief and suffering.

However, in true Guardians fashion, things go spectacularly sideways and they somehow manage to get half the galaxy on their back. Now, the Guardians will have to step up and show what they are made of to save the Galaxy. Look closely, and you'll also notice some newly revealed characters, including the Xandarian Worldmind, and the fan-favourite telepathic Russian space dog, Cosmo.

Oh, and if you're wondering what that catchy tune is, it's a new track from the Star-Lord Band, titled "Space Riders (With No Names)." Star-Lord is the name of Peter Quill’s favourite rock band in this universe, and it's them who eventually inspire his iconic moniker.

Guardians of the Galaxy will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, PC, and streaming via GeForce NOW on October 26, 2021. Check out this awesome new trailer for the game below:

I haven't came this hard in a day over trailers. Insomniac and the Matrix did it for me.

@Cap1 - Part of me wonders if this is Universal’s knee jerk response to the mediocre reviews that came out yesterday? Halloween Kills’ current RT score is in the mid-50’s.

@santoanderson - nah, don’t buy that at all. For one, I think it’s more likely a knee-jerk response to this global pandemic we’re facing. Two, Universal own Peacock, and are trying to boost it’s numbers; this’ll do exactly that. Plus, there’s no way a decision of that magnitude is made within 24 hours

I’m still not sold on this game’s “MCU but not the MCU” art style. Some will argue that James Gunn and co. didn’t invent the Guardians of the Galaxy, but he/they introduced so many hallmarks to the property that didn’t exist in the comics which are ALL OVER this game (the 80’s rock soundtrack, the team’s roster, the characterizations, etc).

Not feeling it, feels very generic and the actual gameplay doesnt inspire confidence. Giving me a lot of Avengers vibes here despite not being the same type of game. The only real positive I'll give it is the design for Cosmo is pretty incredible. Looks like a skip for me

If done like Mass Effect, this could be fun.

Loving the aesthetic and design choices in this game even if it feels like the type of game you'd have the least fun playing as Star Lord of all the Guardians members
