How I feel the MCU will handle Thanos and the INFINITY GAUNTLET

How do I think the MCU will tackle the infinity gauntlet? I believe THEY WON'T! Confusing? Read on!

Our favorite Murderous-Purple-Space-Titan alien baddie Thanos, is being set up by the MCU as the big bad guy of the whole universe so far! When we think of Thanos, I think we can all agree we all think of the infinity gauntlet and we all share the excitement, but I believe the MCU will not use the infinity gauntlet, but just use Thanos as a character.

I'm sure some of you are a little confused still. Let me explain. The MCU don't keep 100% faithful to the comics. Some people may see that as a bad thing, others a good thing. What ever your views on the changes are, they're still gonna happen. No matter how much people rant over villain twist, and race changes, and slight changes to their origin or whatever, changes will still happen. I think the next big change will be Thanos' signature weapon, the infinity gauntlet!

For those of you that don't know, the infinity gauntlet is a golden glove worn by Thanos that needs 6 "infinity gems" to work properly. Already the MCU changed that slightly. They're no longer gems, but stones. Infinity stones. So far only 2 are confirmed to be infinity stones. The tesseract,(as seen in Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers) and the Aether (as seen in Thor The Dark World). Now, I don't know about you, but I think the Tesseract and the Aether are 2 very oddly shaped stones., and I cannot imagine them fitting in a gauntlet with out it looking really, really, REALLY weird.

So how will Thanos use the infinity stones power? I think he will absorb the power out of the artifact, just like Malekith did with the aether in Thor The Dark World. Both stones have energy looking smoke stuff, that looks absorbable. The Aether had that red smoke, and the tesseract has that blue energy inside it. They look absorbable to me. So I think Thanos will suck up the Infinity stones, and then the power is in him, or something among those lines.

Another reason I think they won't use the gauntlet, in the mid credits for Thor 2 Volstag says "it's not wise to keep 2 infinity stones too close together" and they're referring to the tesseract that is locked up in Asgard! At no point do they mention the gauntlet itself, which is shown in the background of the first Thor. So I think marvel is just gonna ignore that.

I could be completely wrong, who knows? We'll have to wait and see!

Before you leave though, I did figure something out that could either be coincidence or I'm a genius.

The 6 infinity gems are different colors. The MIND gem is BLUE, what else is blue in the MCU? THE TESSERACT! What did Loki use the Tesseract for in The Avengers? Oh yeah! To control people's MINDS! Pretty weird...

Also the POWER gem is RED, the Aether is red, and what was that line Thor said in Thor the Dark World? "you know, with all that POWER I thought you would hit harder!" I also remember them saying throughout the movie that the Aether is pure power.

They're the 2 confirmed infinity stones, I think I figured out which ones they are! Or, again I could be completely off! I think the next stone will be revealed in guardians of the galaxy. I think that spear that star lord is carrying is one of the stones, I feel like its time. I'll wait and see!

Thank you for reading, and keep in mind that I am 15 year guy and it's 1:35 AM as I type this, so I do apologize for any mistakes or awkward wording or anything like that! I'd also really appreciate if you could help spread my theory! Thanks again!

The Infinity Gauntlet was seen in the first Thor movie and it had the gems in it.

I'm thinking the the Tesseract, the Aether, and the other Infinity Stones will be used to transfer their power into the Infinity Gema on the gauntlet, to activate them.

I doubt very seriously they that they would decide not to go the route of the gauntlet.

Feige already said that the Tesseract was the space stone.

And apparently there's no gem inside Loki's staff, its just Tesseract powered like the HYDRA weapons.

Maybe the Loki's Staff is the Mind Stone. I also think that the staff is in the hands of SHIELD since we didn't saw it in the end of the Avengers Movie.

If that's the case, we have the Tesseract the Space Stone, the Aether as the Power Stone, and the Stone in Loki's Staff as the Mind Stone.

Loki didn't use the Tesseract to control people's minds - he was using his staff to control minds. the tesseract was used to open the portals into space. they kept describing it as a dimensional door.

if anything, i'd say that maybe the aether is the power stone and the tesseract is the mind stone. and unless loki's staff is just your average, run-of-the-mill mind control item, i'd say that the gem near the top of the staff could be the mind stone. but not for sure.

either way, good theory. it is possible that due to the varying sizes of the stones he will absorb them, or use their power in some way to shrink the sizes of the stones to better suit the glove (i mean, what does the reality gem do, exactly?), but either way, nice job on this article.

Daimion Poitier said in an interview.

"The reason you see the right hand hit the chair is to show it's pre-Gauntlt.

I'm starting to think maybe Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch have something to do with the Infinity stones. Neither of them will be mutants due to the Fox rights issues, but presumably they'll have the same powers as usual.

Scarlet Witch's power is reality manipulation - perhaps she is powered by the Reality Gem/Stone?

Scarlet and Quick will be Inhumans.

uhh one problem with your theory: Malekith didn't absorb any power out of the aether as a stone the aether IS that red cloud of liquidy smoke. odin clearly says that unlike the other stones the aether is fluid and ever changing.
they will problem just change shape to fit the guantlet like magic ya know? the tesseract, aether and all the rest will fit in the gauntlet with some crazy light show sfx trust me

they will probably*

When Thor "destroyed" the Aether, it solidified into these little red shards. Maybe pumping energy through it turns it into the stone. Odin did say it was everchanging.

what corndog said seems legit. maybe their power gets transfered into the gauntlet rendering the tesseract aether etc destroyed or useless.
