James Gunn Talks Star-Lord's 'Sex Crimes' In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

This week's Guardians of the Galaxy trailer has raised more questions than it answered! One of which being the odd matter of Chris Pratt's Starlord being involved in "sex crime"... Hit the jump to see what the film's director had to say!

This week's trailer for Marvel's summer space escapade has set the internet on fire! And not entirely for good reason... Up until now Chris Pratt's "sex crime" was raising questions on just what type of main man we were going to get later this year. Fortunately, the film's director, James Gunn, took to Facebook to clear up the charges, officially titled "illegal manipulation of a Gramosian Duchess". Here's what he had to say:

Quill was seduced by the Duchess and, as anyone who has been to Gramos knows, it's illegal for regular folk to be intimate with royalty there. So there you go.

I was curious if James Gunn was actually going to explain this.

I knew it was consensual sex, and that he just got in trouble for sleeping with royalty. I just didn't know how it went down until now. And I honestly thought Star-Lord would be the one who did the seducing.

This will make Namor feel better.

@Sid Lol! Namor is a user on here who was really concerned about the circumstances of Star-Lord's "sex crime."

This was my explanation to him:

"I just think Star-Lord got drunk with a Princess, which is something you don't do to with royalty, and was falsely reported for committing a sex crime even though the sex was consensual."

This just goes to show how little people on this site know about the GOTG. In the comics it was Bug who was guilty of this, and it wasn't a Gramosian Duchess, it was Kree Royalty. This makes me wonder if the Kree will be in the MCU.

Anyway, it was kind of funny and a good back story for the character. Also, Bug isn't that popular, even by D-List character standards, so i understand why they made it a part of Starlord's backstory.
