Michael Rooker And Karen Gillan Talk GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) talks in details about his role as Guardians of the Galaxy, while also revealing which major cast member he DOESN'T share any scenes with. Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) also talks briefly about the movie. Check it out!
"The speciality is that it has Michael Rooker, Chris Pratt, Dave Batista and Zoe [Saldana] - it's the cast, my friend," Michael Rooker told Digital Spy when he was asked what he believes will make Guardians of the Galaxy stand out from the countless other superhero movies currently filling multiplexes and those hitting in 2014. "We're having a great time doing it and I have a feeling that it's going to be a really sweet deal when it comes out. People are going to love it." Asked how he believes the movie will connect to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe or what he knows about that, Rooker cryptically replied: ""There's so many people guessing and trying to figure out stuff. I can't really comment on any of that."
As for his role as Yondu in the movie, the former star of The Walking Dead praised the make-up effects that helped him transform into the character. "My make-up was fabulous! It was stunning, really. It's beautiful - it's really pretty amazing stuff. I'm just taken back by how talented the make-up artists are." When quizzed about Karen Gillan's (who talks briefly about Guardians of the Galaxy below) recent claim that "everybody is a villain - there's just good guys within the bad guys", Rooker said: "I don't know if everybody's a bad guy! Not everybody's a bad guy, I think Gunn likes to mix it up. In a way her statement is probably correct, but not 'bad'... there's variations, there's grey areas going on there. My guy Yondu is a bit of a cad, so I'm having a really good time playing the role. I had no scenes with Karen at all - the closest we came was at San Diego Comic-Con when she showed everyone she'd shaved her head."
