With The Suicide Squad now playing in theaters and the Peacemaker HBO Max spinoff show in the can, James Gunn is focusing on his upcoming return to the MCU for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Gunn has been working on the movie for quite a while, and took to Twitter last night to share a photo of a stack of hand-drawn storyboards. When a fan responded by asking if he plans to cast any actors from The Suicide Squad in the Marvel threequel, the filmmaker said it was "a distinct possibility."
We're sure Gunn has a pretty good idea of who he'd like to cast in the new roles Vol. 3 will introduce at this stage, but we still don't know who those characters will be. Adam Warlock is rumored (though Gunn appeared to debunk the most recent report), but with specific plot details still under wraps, it's difficult to narrow down the possibilities. As for which cast members from TSS could make the jump to the MCU, he's not exactly stick for options!
We're sure Gunn will share more soon, but for now, all we know for certain is that the core team will return for more intergalactic adventures, and there's a pretty good chance not all of 'em will make it to the end credits!
