James Gunn Responds To Steven Tyler's Request To Be In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol. 3

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler recently expressed his desire to pursue more acting roles, particularly in a sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy, and it looks like James Gunn has heard Tyler's request.

While promoting his new film Happy Birthday last week, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler expressed his desire to enter the comic book movie realm with a role in a potential Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 sequel. Tyler specifically called out director James Gunn in the interview, and as it turns out, Gunn is more than willing to oblige.

During a Q&A on his Facebook page (via The Wrap), Gunn stated that he is a big fan of Tyler's and would be very happy to work with him. “Yes, I did hear that Steven Tyler wants to be in Guardians of the Galaxy. He gave Guardians of the Galaxy a shout-out the other day in an interview. He said, ‘James Gunn are you listening?’ The answer is: Steven, yes I am listening. And I’m a big fan of Steven Tyler‘s. I had the pleasure of directing his daughter Liv in a movie [Super in 2010] in which she was fantastic, and I met him for a few seconds at a screening of that movie. He’s a cool guy. And of course I would love to work with Steven Tyler sometime.”

Of course, Gunn has previously gone on record stating that he currently isn't committed to a third Guardians film and doesn't know if he'll be back to direct one. To clear up any confusion, Gunn later took to his Twitter account to set the record straight. "If I did Vol. 3, sure. I love [Steven Tyler]. Love his work & he’s a very warm guy."

Would you like to see Tyler have a role in a future Guardians film? Sound off below!

if singer/"actors" (looking at you, Lady Gaga and Rihanna) could stop wrecking things i love, that'd be swell.

@Doodlee - I agree, but I honestly don't think Steven Tyler could do anything but enhance the film lol

@Bread - i've never seen him act before, so maybe i'm overreacting. gimmicky casting is just very distracting to me.
