MAJORITY of the time when the US tries remake a british show it dosent turn out to be good but who knows this might be alright, but the orginal is absolute gold

I'm a big fan of the British version, but I've spoken to the three leads and executive producers of the American version and they sure sound convincing...and passionate. I'm looking forward to their take on the concept.

@superdog same here i was worried when they first announced this i am sure people that have'nt seen the original will love it because its nothing like that twilight BS but i believe i am always going to be comparing it to the original version which is'nt a fair thing to do

StevilNYC @ so do i!!

Last time i said that someone bashed me for it haha.

Thanks Ed for the article.

No prob. redsoxdude. In terms of the show itself, outside of the core concept, I would imagine the approach is going to be markedly different. Hopefully different enough where watching either show will provide a varied experience.
StevilNYC
StevilNYC - 11/4/2010, 9:13 AM
@redsoxdude It would be epic.

@LEEE777 Until the live action Star Wars show, The Walking Dead has my loyalty.

On a side note, the Force Unleashed pretty much showed us everything prequel Anakin should have been. A frack'n VIDEO GAME character pwned and tea bagged Hayden Christensen's acting skill. I rode an elevator with Hayden once and for a second thought..this is pretty eff'n sweet! I'm like Luke on his way to meet the emperor with Vader escorting me like in ROTJ. Then, I snapped out of it and thought...I should Stone Cold Stun this guy for destroying an icon. I live with that regret everyday my friends.

Pity its only a short run tho.

Why does there always have to be an american adaption of a british tv series? Being Human is an excellent show, well written, well acted etc etc same with the Office.

@nopurposennaki- There going to do two made for tv films of the Inbetweeners, where they go on holiday ;) But then that's it :(

Stevil@ Heck yeah it will be epic, glad there are more people that feel that way. I saw Unleashed 2 the other day. Hopefully if i am good this year the wife will get it for me for Christmas. Fingers crossed! haha.

Ibz - 11/4/2010, 11:05 AM
and it wont be long until sherlock holmes gets a US spin
Ryden
Ryden - 11/4/2010, 11:10 AM
An American Skins and Inbetweeners? WTF!?!? That's not right! Seriously, we watch a bunch of great American programmes without putting a "British spin" on them. What, can people in America not understand it or something? I think that's an insult to the American audience's intelligence. There are some americans on here who have watched the original and liked it, so clearly it's not a language barrier.

Ryden
Ryden - 11/4/2010, 11:37 AM
@nopurposenaji- Yeah I know, plus a lot of the mainstream american audience just don't get our humour. BTW no americans should take offense to this next comment, it;s just that a lot of americans don't really understand sarcastic or dry humour. I mean think about, the highest rating comedy is that Two and a Half Men crap and Friends.

It's just that Inbetweeners is very sarcastic and witty, Americans are more used to very on the nose jokes. Not a bad thing or anything just not what's popular. which is why Inbetweeners US will crash and burn.
Eviltwin
Eviltwin - 11/4/2010, 11:50 AM
OMG, I'm so sick of seeing great stuff being remade for American audiences.

The original Being Human is a great show.

@ Ryden
I don't think it's a matter of American audiences not understanding the humour, it's just that if it's not "American" they just don't care for it. Sad really.

@ Teabag
LMAO
"Cuts into pub time." I love it!
Eviltwin
Eviltwin - 11/4/2010, 11:52 AM
@ Ibz
Sherlock Holmes did get an American spin, sort of. The show House M.D. is based on Holmes.

Next they'l try and make a USA version of Spaced.

Oh....wait....
Triptheorist
Triptheorist - 11/4/2010, 2:17 PM
I'm surprised that they just don't air the original British episodes. I believe they're already about to begin series 3.

I'll give it a go, but it already looks like it's falling into the typical pitfalls of remaking a Brit tv show. All style over substance, and just straight up copying the show verbatim to the point where the actors seem more like talking parrots. *see coupling

Skip this, do a Starkiller television show!
EdGross
EdGross - 11/4/2010, 3:41 PM
BBC America has aired the first two seasons/series. And you're right, triptheorist, season 3 kicks off in January.
SoulAllFlush
SoulAllFlush - 11/4/2010, 3:58 PM
Why do America need to remake everything? Don't get me wrong, I'm not bothered by it - just a tad baffled.

even though Im british, by the looks of things from the promo, it looks ok. Although I find it funny that the voice over at the end called it A NEW ORGINAL SERIES! it s a REMAKE lol, but who knows it could be a good one.
