Director Waiting For Fans Reactions Before Making Resident Evil 5

With a box office record for its franchise, It shouldn't surprise you that resident Evil 5 is already being given some serious thought. But it seems director Paul W.S. Anderson is waiting for the fans reaction to the film before the real work begins.

With the fourth title in its series, "Resident Evil: Afterlife" already guaranteeing itself a number one spot in its opening weekend, Star of the Film Milla Jovovich has already confirmed some work on its sequel.

"This new Resident Evil is the first one to ever open at No. 1 worldwide. It’s the biggest movie in the franchise, So we’re definitely going to make another one"

The star also commented saying that director and husband Paul W.S. Anderson has already gotten some ideas of what do to with a fifth movie, but wants the audience to help decide on what they will see next.

"We’ve been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it’s probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It's going to be a more interactive process."

"Resident Evil: Afterlife" Is now playing in theaters every where.

God why cant we have a movie with Chris and Jill, or Leon and Claire as the main characters?
I only going to watch it this friday to experiment the 3-D and to criticize it. :)

have the entire movie follow Leon, in fact i wouldnt mind a adaptation of Re4. Anderson ruined these movies by turning it into an apocalypse instead of it being isolated areas being infected.

This series is beyond redemption....lets face it, they screwed themselves into a corner and now they are looking for fan feedback to decide what to do next...oh that whole interactive thing is horrible idea....you can't asks fans what they want, because they will demand the impossible for them on their restraint budgets

A fourth movie was pushing it, and now a fifth. I doubt any successful director would touch this as a reboot, even if it was ever in the works. They don't even seem to know of their own viral marketing. They promised Leon after confirming him supposedly dead during the RE2 incident. A prequel would be a good idea without having continuity errors. Better yet, what every fan wants; a full reboot. But we all know that's thrown out of the window and this franchise can't be taken seriously. I'll just wait till ten simultaneous lame sequels are slammed giving 'Alice' her big arc. I don't care about your 3D, you're raping my favorite video game series.

Alone in the Dark, and Resident Evil, may have pioneered the genre, and were amazing.
Silent Hill was a far better game and movie than either, IMO.

i want to see a tyrant that does not talk like in the first game in a creepy experimental lab, and some hunters,and plant 42. those are the things i want to see. im pretty much giving up on a remake.

I'm not watching this film in hopes that my money won't go on to fund sequels. These films keep getting worse. I rented RE3 and couldn't even get through the whole movie, it was that bad!
I'm hoping that the series is rebooted to follow the game closer. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A HORROR SERIES, NOT AN ACTION SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first one was pants, the second was abysmal. I stopped watching them from then on. Can ya believe George Romero was supposed to direct the first one, then they fired him and got Paul "oscar winning director" Anderson to replace him. Yeah, that made sense. But, if that's your thing....

And what's the deal with the demand of Jensen Ackles playing everyone in every film to be announced, from Superman to Captain America, and now, Leon Kennedy.
I don't think he's proved himself in a feature film lead just yet (hammy tv acting is all).

GOD THESE MOVIES SUCK SO HARD!!!

It really pisses me off when you stop and think about the fact that at some point some film executive read the scripts for these films and said, "Hellz to the yeah. We've gotta make these!". These films are nothing like the game. They aren't scary. They aren't zombie-ish enough and they have WAY too much martial arts sh!t in them.

I say reboot it and get the guy that directed "The Crazies" remake to do it. That film was good. Hell, get anybody but Paul Anderson.

I don't know why it's so hard to follow the storylines from the games? I mean, they're pretty much moving storyboards for the directors! These films would've been way more successfull if they would've started in the mansion for the first film and finished up in South Africa for the latest one.

If Mr. Anderson ever reads this…. Your wife is beautiful and a great talent but please move on with the Alice arc. Keep the rights of production but let it be a REBOOT/REFRESH to this series. Please consult Mr. Shinji Mikami. Stay away from the Hi-tech flashy action packed flick and go with a more "atmospheric gritty horror" style/story like in the games.

gorgeous@ as racer said no he doesnt turn into a zombie. but he isnt in the movie that much and he is basically wasted cause he really has nothing to do or contribute to the story. his intro is lame and makes no sense and the coincidence of him and his sister ending up in the same prison 4 years after a zombie apocalypse has killed pretty much everyone else on the planet is just a ridiculous notion. hope that answers your question :)

Or maybe a full reboot, start from the first game and proceed with caution. Or they can Hulk it and just have the back story montage, then we can just go straight to the best in the series, RE4.

Leave Leon Out of it, unless they wanna do a sort of rewind and base it on RE4. I think a lot of people got confused by the new zombies with the crazy mouths, which is actually a result of the Las Plagas parasite (Umbrella approved) and RE4 deals a lot with that.

Otherwise, judging by the after credits scene, I think they are gonna try to tie Chris and Jill together as well (as they should) and without going into much detail, Oroboros would be nice to see. They haven't really dealt with Ozwell or the Ashfords in film yet either, and with our heroes having a tanker to traverse the sea's, the Ashford family is a strong possibility. I can see a nice amalgamation of the Oroboros and the Arctic research facility.

I woud rather see a total reboot, but since this one has been so successful, it's more likely we'll get another one. To be honest though, this film was a step in the right direction for the franchise on some levels. I really felt like the writer/directer is trying to pull the franchise back toward the source. The movie had sooo many Eggs, and several things I've seen people perplexed by or displeased with was surprisingly close to the games, and I think those peope would better understand if they played the core games of the franchise, RE1-RE5 simply. Here is to hoping they do a BETTER job reigning it back to the source, I appreciate FINALLY getting Chris Redfield and the recognition of Claire as his sister, but there had to be a better way to do it. Sudden and random coincidence just make me roll my eyes.

hah, thats what i keep saying myth. him being in that prison and her showing up there after 4 years of this and all the stuff theyve both been thru is just too ubeleivable. i understand what your saying about the game easter eggs and that the big zombie with the ax is a boss but his presence in the movie made no sense. they didnt say how he got there or why he was there or who sent him. he just shows up and then gets killed with no reason.

The Executioner was the 2nd best thing in the movie. Wesker was probably the best thing. He totally came from RE5 lol with the dodging bullets (looks like he is teleporting cause he's so fast). I think a reboot is needed. I don't know where else they can take it without doing a reboot. Introducing Jill Valentine with Chris now would be weird. I bet you they are going to do that scene with Wesker in the mansion room in a flashback scene since they showed us Jill after the credits with that device on her chest. They took a lot of material from RE5. Why Sheva or Africa wasn't involved idk.
