They dropped the Dylan Dog subtitle, its just Dead Of Night now. Anyway, what did you make of that? Cheesy voice-over aside I think it could be fun, but its looking very Buffy/Angel to me at the same time. Not that thats a bad thing, but its been done and I'm not sure its wise to attempt similar when its Joss Whedon's pen your going to be compared to. Not sure about this one.

The film is directed by Kevin Munroe, who's feature debuted was the animated TMNT. The script was co-written by writers Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer (of Thoughtcrimes, Sahara, A Sound of Thunder). It's based on Tiziano Sclavi's Italian comic book series first published in 1986 (and re-released in the US by Dark Horse).

Correct me if i´m wrong, this is Dylan Dog the italian comic book? if it is i tried to read it a long time but i think it would sooner come the movie before i can put my eyes on the comic.

it is italian but you can find translated versions too by dark horse. i personally love this comic book. i have been reading it for years and it is absolutely amazing. can't wait for the movie. although i prefer the american comics over european (and i am european) but this is deff. worth your while if you like black and white horror comics. his assistant marcus? where is groucho? he is the man ! looks a bit cheesy but it is still post production so it will get better. cannot wait ! oh, and..routh is still great as superman. bring him back !

Hopefully this succeeds in theaters and the WB/DC brings back Routh as Superman.

so basically it's a terrible rip off of Constantine. emotionless hero who fights the supernatural, quirky sidekick with a hat, love interest that has no idea what's going on, among other things/visuals that reminded me of it. well that's a shame. this will not be the highlight of Routh's career. especially if the director only boast TMNT on his resume.

BIG LOL! The playground of this movie should have been England like in the comics and much darker! Now its just cheesy popcorn movie! NOT FUNNY! At least not in the good way!
Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Matthew Goode, Henry Cavill, Johnny Depp, Michael Fassbender and Jude Law would have been much better choices as Dylan than Routh!

Jordan Heath@ The Original sidekick was a guy who dressed like Groucho from the Marx´s brothers! And if i remember right he was called Groucho too!

I think that someone like James McTeigue, Guillermo Del Toro, David Croenenberg, David Fincher or Sam Raimi should have directed this sh*t!

I will definately go and see this!

I didn't realise Sam Huntington (Jimmy Olsen from Superman Returns) was also in this! I know people are going to hate the fact that they are both in it, but I don't care. I don't know a lot about the film or the comic book, but this looks cool!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.... ROUTHBOOT!

Okay, this looked really bad. Whats with the terrible costumes and makeup? Looks like a sci fi original. This was a bad choice for Routh. Sadly, i think he's going to be the best part of this movie.
Im a fan of Routh, but that still doesnt say much for this piece of junk.

Edit:
Honestly though, I think the trailer is straight garbage. Whats with the crappy voice over with the cliche lines?! Its not selling this movie well at all. They shoulda made it much shorter and not given away as much. Makes it look really lame.

Guys - do you know what "Routhboot" sounds like?

It sounds like you want to kick him. So I agree. :)

I just saw him in Unthinkable, and he did ok (although he didn't have much to say/do), but still seemed a bit wooden and actory in his line delivery compared to the actors around him.

I think it's good that he's getting his career back on track and I'm sure he'll improve as time goes on, but I still cannot see how any comics Superman fan could ever picture him in the role. He doesn't evoke him physically or personality wise remotely. Bizarre.

Too much like the Constantine movie, there are too many gadgets: in the comics Dylan uses only the gun (an ordinary revolver) and not that much.
And I truly hope they will cut that two guns scene, too exagerated for the character.
Besides that Routh is convincing enough as Dylan Dog and I hope that most gadgetry won't make it to the final cut.

Looks like another blah and uninspiring performance by Routh. A bunch of monotone delivery, no emotion and expression and the same old..same old we got in SR and Chuck. Meh.

Routh is a terrible actor. Very stale and no emotion. Same Clark Kent attitude. Which is why he is perfect for Superman. He doesn't have to act too much just be really sincere and kick ass.

My problem with it isnt even a problem. It's just the editor for the trailer made this FEEL like a TV show that i am excited for instead of a movie either way it looks fun :] ill go see it for sure.

Is it just me or does it feel like a TV Show?

Ror, i started watching the vid before reading your thoughts and you hit the nail on the head. Its like the lost episodes of Buffy. The ugly looking creature thing and the whole hanging out at the graveyard. Looks interesting tho and i will probably go see it.
