Vanity Fair has shared the first images from Ghostbusters: Afterlife and we now know that the movie is going to follow Callie (Carrie Coon), her science-obsessed daughter Phoebe (Mckenna Grace), and mechanics loving son Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) as they move to a small Oklahoma town after inheriting a property from Callie's estranged father.

Unlike the 2016 reboot, this movie will be set in the same world as the original Ghostbusters movies and the main link will be the "Manhattan Crossrip," a "technical term for that long-ago bizarre incident in New York involving an apocalypse-summoning skyscraper, a gargantuan killer marshmallow man, and four working stiffs who managed to fight back against an ancient Sumerian God named Gozer." How much do you want to be that Callie's dad is an original cast member?

After all, the house they inherit is packed full of links back to the team and according to director Jason Reitman, "Trevor and Phoebe are about to find out who their grandfather was and whether they’re ready to pick up the proton pack themselves." Their teacher, Mr. Grooberson, was a kid when the "Manhattan Crossrip" occurred and is set to serve as a metor of sorts.

It all sounds like it could make for a fun time and with these first official images comes a brand new poster. Oh, and the teaser trailer has now been confirmed for release this coming Monday!
