This just in from Marvel:

"Columbia Records will release the album AC/DC: Iron Man 2 on Monday, April 19, 2010. AC/DC: Iron Man 2, features 15 classic AC/DC songs selected from ten of the band’s studio albums, ranging from 1976 to 2008. The complete track listing can be found below.

Pre-orders begin today, January 26th at Walmart.com for the AC/DC: Iron Man 2 CD and at Amazon.com for a deluxe version of AC/DC: Iron Man 2 – CD+DVD and two LP vinyl packages. The film opens internationally beginning on April 28, 2010. In the U.S., the film will be distributed by Paramount Pictures and is scheduled for release on May 7, 2010.

The debut video from AC/DC: Iron Man 2 is the AC/DC’s classic album cut “Shoot To Thrill,” which was filmed live last month in Buenos Aires during the band’s highly acclaimed Black Ice World Tour, the second highest grossing world tour of 2009 according to concert industry trade publication Pollstar. The video also incorporates exclusive footage from “IRON MAN 2” and debuts today worldwide. Check www.acdc.com and www.marvel.com for more information. “Shoot To Thrill” was originally recorded for the band’s 50-million selling album Back In Black, one of the best selling albums of all time.

“Jon Favreau’s vision and passion for AC/DC’s music blend seamlessly into this incredible film” said Steve Barnett, co-chairman of Columbia Records. "The music really underscores the high energy and excitement of the film.”

“Music is an integral part of the Tony Stark and Iron Man experience, and we are pleased that Columbia and AC/DC are taking part in the franchise’s phenomenon. Through this relationship, the band is delivering fans supercharged Iron Man branded music through all our combined consumer touch points, from the movie to retail outlets and even virally with the debut of the new video,” said Tim Connors, Chief Operating Officer, Marvel Studios."

Sweet!!! None of this would have been possible if it weren't for Jon Favreau coming back to the hit franchise he envisioned and successfully put up for the world to see a couple years ago with the first 'Iron Man.' Take a look at the CD's track's:

AC/DC: Iron Man 2 Track Listing:

"Worldwide Video Premiere of “Shoot To Thrill”
"Today, January 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. EST"

Here is the above mentioned video premiere “Shoot To Thrill”:

Iron Man was the first feature film produced independently by Marvel Studios and had a worldwide gross of over 600 million. That's a chunk of change boys! “IRON MAN 2” is continuing the successful tradition of being produced by Marvel Studios’ President, Kevin Feige.

Lots of good songs there. "Razors Edge" is probably my favorite Brian Johnson era tune. I loved hearing Suicidal Tendencies in the first Iron Man flick!

@sage-I think everyone knows it but it works for them. You always know what your going to get from an AC/DC song and they don't usually disappoint.

Greenday is following this same blueprint now.

@sage Best 3 songs I've heard in my life!
@ror Totally agree. AC/DC is freaking amazing finally got to see them in concert and was on cloud 9.

I thought the AC/DC laced Iron Man I was awesome, can't wait to see how Jon uses them in Iron Man II.

seems to me they're missing out in not having "Jailbreak" on there. Would be perfect for when Whippy breaks out of prison, no?

And I want to hear "Whole Lotta Rosie" While Tony's gettin busy with a big ol' fat chick.........

Maybe they should have "Big Balls" after his announcement to the world too. LOL

Hey guys, I wanted to try looking at Cap casting from a different perspective. Check it out:

heh hey Rorshach, I was drunk off my ass at a strip club the other night (first time in a long while), and Back in Black came on. I was havin' a toe tappin' blast of a time - particularly to that song.

I'm pretty snobbish when it comes to my "taste in music", but at the end of the day sometimes you've just gotta stop analyzing it and have a good time - AC/DC is a good group to do that with. Anyways, ever since the days of Beavis and Butthead, I have developed a particular affection for the group - if it's good enough for Beavis, 'tis good enough for me. =P

You guys have a great idea with "Thunderstruck" for Thor - if there are any rock songs included on that soundtrack, that with the Zeppelin songs.

Wow.

When my little brother first came to realize War Machine's awesomeness, he researched the net to try and find a theme song for War Machine.
He came across AC/DC's song "War Machine". I thought it was bullshit.

Apparently, I was wrong. :)

Great selection of tracks. It's about time some of the younger generation out there are exposed to decent music and good old fashion rock n roll.
God, I sound like my parents.
@superhero9 - Danny Elfman does not make classic scores. Batman was his one and only fluke. Epic scores? Check Williams (I agree), Ennio Morricone, Basil Poledouris, Hans Zimmer, Jerry Goldsmith. Elfman is not even in their league.

As far as a theme for Thor...go listen to 'God of Thunder' by KISS. Would be perfect for the closing credits.

Well it was a matter of time before this happened after Back in Black was used in Iron Man 1 (and josh is damn right, it is one of the best openings) & Shoot to Trill & The Razor's Edge was used in the Iron Man 2 trailer. I am very happy to see AC/DC become Iron Man's official musi, two awesome things put together

And BubbaDude is right, where is Jailbreak?
Ugh

What? No "Big Balls"?
dustin7933
dustin7933 - 1/26/2010, 7:57 PM
Wow. What a really lame idea. Does AC/DC really need to have fifteen tracks in the movie? No. That really sucks. Slug back some beers and get ready for some explosions! AC/DC rules man! [frick]in lame.
Ugh
Ugh - 1/26/2010, 9:53 PM
Are you kidding me @dustin7933? One of the most epically awesome things about Stephen Kings "Maximum Overdrive" was the AC/DC driven soundtrack. I expect this movie to be equally or even more awesome than this movie.
dustin7933
dustin7933 - 1/27/2010, 11:00 AM
Thoguh I've never seen "Maximun Overdrive" I'm sure it is good. But what I don't need is fifteen of the same songs from the last 40 years that I've heard six million times on the radio all packaged up in a super deluxed limited edition cd, dvd, and lp to further "enhance" Iron Man either a) flying, or b) blowing something up. It's as rediculous as having "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath playing at the end credits.
