Mickey Rourke spends some quality time in a Russian Jail

To prepare for his upcoming role as "Whiplash" Mickey Rourke spent a few hours behind bars to mentally prepare for his role of Whiplash in Iron Man 2

IESB.net is reporting a pic (seen below) of Mickey Rourke checking out a bunker in a Russian jail. This all has to do with the recent news of Mickey officially signing on to Iron Man 2 as "an unknown Russian villain" --which we all know is Whiplash. In the below pic we see Mickey mentally preparing himself for the role.

I wonder what the conversation was like. Probably something like...

Camera Guy: Hey Mick, whatchya think of that there bunk?

Mickey: It looks hard to sleep on. I have a back injury you know--from boxing professionally and that Wrestler movie I did recently.

Camera Guy: You should try laying on it for at least one night. Whatchya think Mick?

Mickey: Naw. I ain't stayin' here overnight to be butt raped by these REAL ruskie prisoners. Lets get the hell out of here.

I am going to remain in denial about him being Whiplash until I hear it come from Jon F., RDJ, or Rourke himself. This is funny though. Was he just hangin' out in Russia and was all like, "Hey! Lets go kick it at the nearest gulag!"

Ok, I'm still confused. I thought Whiplash aka Blacklash was a two bit America gangster hood. Russian criminal to me means Crimson Dynamo.

I'm sorry Jman1977 but you have not done your research correctly. Whiplash is from cleveland. So no, We all don't know it's whiplash. I think it's Crimson Dynamo. Which makes more sense considering that one of the crimson Dynamos' was the son of Black Widow's partner. And we all know black widow is in it. Plus whiplash is a gay bad guy.

If they're tossing Black Widow into it, it SHOULD be Crimson Dynamo. I can hear this conversation between Rourke and Favraeu about this:

JF: So your onboard?

MR: Sure. Why the hell not. (chuckles)Tell me what the [frick] is up with this Whiplash bullshit if I'm playin tha Crimson Dynamo.

JF: Huh? Oh, pay no mind, I'm just [frick]in with the fanboys. (laughs) They'll be bitchin about it for months. Makes buzz about the flic.

Next, both he and Scarlett enroll in the 'Pavel Checkov School of Russian Accents' to learn how to switch the 'V's' and 'W's' in their sentences and talk like they just came from the dentist after a root canal....

Let's go with 'STAR' power, screw getting the RIGHT people for the job (this BLOWS)!!!!

That must be the minnium security "tourist" russian jail, it looks comfortable .. i spent 2 weeks n an american jail and i would gladly trade my bunk which was a double bunk, and hey that cell has a nice view!

@Grif: LMFAO! Great caption man.

@LoganasPatch: Try spending 4 months in an American jail then. And it looks like he did have a double, and he had top, which meant he was the bitch, lol. I agree, his view was better than mine. Anyone else part of CBM's own group of convicts and rogues? lol

I read on g4tv.com, not sure where they got the info, that supposedly he was going to be an amalgam of whiplash and crimson dynamo. Not sure if they are just shooting out stuff for fun but here is the link if anyone wants to see.

If I remember correctly, didn't RDJ spend some time in jail for a movie? Oh wait, maybe that was for personal research. Must be writing a book or something :)

it's not that bad being locked up, as long as it isn't for long. mine was like a high school reunion, charleston, south kakk baby!! but on a real note, the first movie was great and the second is looking even better. great actors for all the roles, i even liked mr. howard as war machine, but don juan will be better. and i think black widow is gonna be a front runner for sexiest comic chick ever in a movie. next to...........

Apollo22237: I beleive you're correct. I've read on several different treads, on a number of different movie sites, that have all posted the comment that Rourke's character will be a combination of the Crimson Dynamo and Whiplash... which, if you think about it in terms of the character's powers, makes perfect sense to me!
(One guy carries around electrically charged whips, the other wears armor that conducts massive amounts of elecricity.)

loganoniel: I don't know if I'm completely sold on the whole Scarlett Johannsen as Black Widow deal, but I completely disagree on the notion that ANY of the other actors mentioned in the recent casting choices are anything but "Stars!"
Mickey Rourke is incredibly talented, as are Tim Robbins, Don Cheadle, and Sam Rockwell!

Wow! That is one clean jail. I spent 10 months in Geogia State prison, and I got a hole in the wall, with a leaky toilet! Seriously yall southern prisons need to be reformed. They're overcrowded.

But it is nice to see Mickey researching his role.

Well, I'm gonna fly this coup.

HAWK out.

@THEHAWK: 10 months in a state pen, wow. I'm in KY and they put alot of money into our jail system. It's a business in this state. Kentucky has the largest prison population per-capitae in the US. Wereas most states have roughly 1 inmate to every 10 civilians, KY has 3 inmates to every 10 civilians. They give you a full year in county for possession of Mary Jane. Coomunist-wealth, I mean commonwealth states suck.

I think he's going to be Dynamo eventually. It would work if the Black Widow was working on Stark for the Dynamo from the inside, giving him alcohol poisoning and souring his relationship with Pepper. That would be good.
