Deadline reports that Iron Man 3 has gotten off to a strong start overseas after opening in just 12 countries yesterday (that's around 23% of the overseas market). Apparently, it's "already seeing grosses far above Iron Man 2 and in some cases even The Avengers". After breaking records in Taiwan and The Philippines, the Shane Black helmed movie even went on to beat Earth's Mightiest Heroes in France! The $13.2 million is made up of France ($3.0M), Italy ($2.1M), Australia ($3.4M), Taiwan ($1.4M), Philippines ($1.5M), New Zealand ($600K) and its debut in Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Switzerland, Belgium, and The Netherlands. Iron Man 3 opens in the US next week, but is released in most other international territories over the course of today and tomorrow. At this rate, analysts are already predicting an eventual worldwide cume of over $1 billion.

In other news, ET Online caught up with Tom Hiddleston at the Los Angeles premiere for Iron Man 3 and he revealed that what we've seen in the teaser trailer for Thor: The Dark World doesn't even begin to scratch the surface and shares his thoughts on why fans can't get enough of Loki.
