Looks like a lot of fun, eh? The winner of our recent Iron Man contest (in which he had to prove himself to be the biggest UK fan of the character here on CBM) was lucky enough to be there and he's sent in the following description of his experiences at the event and some photos too. As you can imagine, it must have been one hell of a surprise when the cast and crew of the Marvel Studios threequel came out on stage to introduce the film!
"Was very surreal being there with the red carpet and all the press. Was really surprised at how nasty the press were as a non-cast member walked in front of a Ben Kingsley and the abuse that was shouted was disgusting as kids were present.
As for stars on the carpet we sadly got rushed into the screen by security so didn't get a chance to mingle. We did however see Rebecca Hall and Sir Ben Kingsley doing the press circuit.
We went inside and were impressed that on the seat was a bag of popcorn, 3D Iron Man glasses and a bottle of water. Our seats were right at the front of the screen dead centre, and with some leaning back, we had a great view.
Just before the film started security lined the one side of the cinema and the presenter made his way on stage directly in front of us. Then one by one each star walked on stage including Robert Downey Jr. We both took as many pics as we could, and to be honest, I was a bit star struck with it.
As for the film I thought it was great the set pieces were fantastic and the big twist surprised me to say the least. I just remind myself that this is the cinematic universe and not the 616. Also it really did feel like an end of a trilogy and that surprised me a lot."
