First Reaction To IRON MAN 3

First Reaction To IRON MAN 3

A JoBlo reader has provided the site with the first ever (that we know of) reaction to the upcoming Marvel threequel after catching the movie at a trade screening. It's not a full review and there are no real spoilers, he just talks about what we can expect from the tone of the film for the most part.

We won't be getting a full round of reviews for Iron Man 3 for a while, but if you are just looking for one person's opinion on what to expect in terms of overall quality, read on. A JoBlo reader shared his take on the movie after seeing it at a trade screening and seems very impressed indeed, comparing the movie to The Avengers and calling it the "funniest Marvel movie to date"

Here's the transcription from the JoBlo podcast in full.

"It blows the second movie out of the water, It has some amazing action sequences that are on par with The Avengers. Robert Downey Jr. brings so much to this role that he is completely irreplaceable. Shane Black was a good choice for this one, as he injected his buddy-cop movie style towards the end, and was able to balance great action scenes with a ton of comedy. I heard a lot of early trepidation about this one going for the bleak, Dark Knight style that seems to be so popular with Superhero movies these days, but that is not the case. This is by far the funniest Marvel movie to date, and handled with the same light touch as the previous films. This is a great addition to the MCU and makes me excited to go along for the ride for Phase 2."

Like I said, obviously this is just one guy's take but it's nice to know that he at least was happy with the final product. Let's hope the positive reactions continue when the first wave of full reviews hit.

it blows iron man 2 out of the water... That's not saying much considering iron man 2 [frick]in sucked. If the review stated it blew the first iron man out of the water then I'd be very interested... Im pumped for this film though none the less, asking as its not like iron man 2 then it should be good :P

That's great to hear, I love RDJ and Val Kilmer in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Its going to be nice to finally see Tony and Rodey interacting with each other more like in the comics and the animated series rather than what we saw in IM2.

So many [frick]ing whiners. That was a very encouraging review, and how could anyone doubt the talents that are at work on this one? Stop crying.

Glad they didn't take the dreary tone of Nolan, the early news had me worried they might. Hope Man of Steel is also not all 'bleak and dreary', let that tone of CBM stay with Bats, where it belongs.

The movie really can't win with some fans. If there's comedy it's too light and for kids, if it goes dark they copied Dark Knight. Oh well, can't please everyone. Bring it.
