Several months ago, I was tipped that Marvel Studios were considering a filming location for the forthcoming Iron Man 3, inside the Experimental Media Performing Arts Center (EMPAC), located in Troy, New York. While making mention of it exclusively last month, I was told exactly that a studio rep took a tour of the EMPAC, scouting a place to act as the secret lab of the villain in the threequel.

While they reiterate that no decision was final, The Records confirms:

The college confirmed this week that Marvel expressed interest and visited the campus. But nothing is written in stone yet. And He did not say when the visit took place.

“These types of location scouting inquiries and negotiations about EMPAC take place all the time,” said Michael Mullaney, a Rensselaer spokesman. “At this point, there is absolutely nothing certain or definitive about Iron Man 3.”

While little is known regarding the story for Robert Downey Jr.'s third glorified return as Tony Stark in Iron Man 3, rumors has the Mandarin & the Ten Rings villainizing along with an unspecified role for The Young Victoria actress Emily Blunt.

And in April last year, actor Faran Tahir, 'Raza' from the original Iron Man movie revealed that he may return for the third installment, but nothing had been finalized. And he also stated that his character is the only connection to Mandarin, so they were still trying to figure out how it's going to fit.

With Disney distributing faithfully, Iron Man 3 is targeted for theaters May 3, 2013, most likely in 3D. What do you think?
