Any CBMers in the Bay Area? Stan the Man is appearing at San Jose's Big Wow! comic convention on Sunday May 19th for autographs and pictures and allegedly a special panel!

I managed to grab an early showing today. wasnt actually overly impressed, i think i built it up too much in my head before seeing it. Was still a definite improvement on no.2, but better than Avengers? not so sure, prob put it on the same level as Thor.

Everyone has their own opinion though, all comic book fans should see it.

@OrgasmicPotatoe yea he does, its pretty funny as well.

Ya know, its one thing when a comment thread degenerates into a flame war with some butt hurt a-hole posting spoilers all over the place, but when a thread degenerates into a Teabag date line and talk of actual butt hurting, I have to insist on someone making things right with some BOOBS!!
Yeah, I'm looking at you, Tea! But, not that way...

Stan Lee. Great Promoter of Jack Kirby's genius under the banner of Marvel/Stan Lee.

Wrong Stan. Downey was not born to play Iron Man, i can see a lot other actors that can play Stark, though not that amusing. Downey was born to play himself!

@sKeemAn (and other interested parties) here is the link: http://www.bigwowcomicfest.com/news_and_press/2013/4/excelsior_stan_lee_attending_the_2013_big_wow_comicfest/

Tickets for the con are only like $20 and the tickets for Stan are very reasonably priced. I went to this con last year and it is smaller than WonderCon but there is actually a focus on comics! Looks like they have a good cosplayer lineup too.

BTW, I've also seen Iron Man 3 and while it is pretty good it doesn't compare to The Avengers. And I expect MOS will do better at the box office this year.
As for where Stan Lee fits in with a cameo, I'll let you be the judge of that.

I'm just about sick and tired of having of wait weeks longer than the rest of the world to see Marvel's movies. I feel like the dude who is last in line to sleep with his date.

@teabag

Agree with everything you said in that post. Disappointing end credits scene again probably because we have stupid expectations about what to expect movie upon movie. Still, good film which should make most people happy.

@ teabag

The movie was pretty spectacular! The funniest and most clever of the Ironman movies. You really do get an insight into who Tony is apart from the suit. He IS Ironman and not just because of the suit. The end fight and what he does after was pretty symbolic. As for the end credits... It was funny but not shawarma funny.

But boy was the action good!

I think I must of bigged the film up too much cos now im slit my wrists disappointed, maybe it was the 3D, I don't know but didn't find it THAT funny, couldn't get into it, no woah! moments, unfortunately I could go on. Im gona go see it again next week in 2D and with a 'it was crap' mentality but does anyone agree with me?

Yeah I don't recommend 3D, some bits were cool like the snow scenes and the suit flying to tony but I think it took it away from the visual effects. Cant fault that at all.

don't watch it on 3D. 2D works perfectly fine. I'm going to see it again tonight!

If you're a fan of Iron Man beyond these movies, avoid IM3 like the [frick]ing plague. You will only get pissed off. This movie is not for Iron Man fans.

@Vadakin agree that fans never get what we want but relax bro its not life & death! Take your kids to the movies eat your popcorn & be happy to be alive! IF YOU ARE A DC TROLL THAN STFU!!!!!!!!! STOP THIS PETTY BS!!! ITS A MOVIE...................bro......................A MOVIE!!!!!
Vadakin
Vadakin - 4/25/2013, 6:17 PM
It's a wasted opportunity is what it is. To do what they did to the Mandarin is unforgivable. I happen to like both Marvel and DC and I've been waiting for Mandarin to show up ever since he was hinted at in IM1. But this....[frick]ing awful. It's like that JJ Abrams Superman script where Lex Luthor was from Krypton. That bad.

Aside from that, the rest of the movie has some good bits but the plot is weak as hell, the extremis arc comes off goofy as hell. This is the worst of the Marvel movies by far. It's such a shame too because this could have been something special.
CaptainHulk3
CaptainHulk3 - 4/25/2013, 6:40 PM
Agreed!!! They could have made it 100x better! Its Coperate Hollywood! One day someone will get smart & give us the movies, games, hopefully theme parks & true brand loyalty! I'm in my early 30's so I've learned to dumb down my expectations!
