The first full trailer for Jonah Hex will be released in theaters this weekend with the horror remake A Nightmare on Elm Street. Until then, take a look at the first footage of the film from a ScyFy channel preview here:



For those of you unfamiliar with the outline of the film (or whether it will follow along with the comic series it is based off of), here's the synopsis:

The U.S. military makes a scarred bounty hunter with warrants on his own head an offer he cannot refuse: in exchange for his freedom, he must stop a terrorist who is ready to unleash Hell on Earth.

The film stars Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Michael Fassbender and Megan Fox; and it is currently scheduled to be released on June 18, 2010.


MPP - After Warner Bros' other comic adaptation The Losers had a disappointing opening weekend, I worry about Jonah Hex. If it doesn't do well, it may be the final straw for Warner Bros to stop putting money into comic book movies that aren't based on superheroes.

Good. But it reminds me of "Wild Wild West" movie directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, with Will Smith, Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh, and Salma Hayek.

Its a comic book movie? Of course its gonna be over the top?!?

GEEZUZ lol, hey if it makes a sequel, it would be cool if he gets flung into the future like he did in the HEX comics!

DeathWalker @ I'm hoping we get to see the eye at some point (but i was hoping for the real DEADPOOL in Origins at some point and look how that turned out like lol).

@DeathWalker - They originally HAD the eye. But they were using makeup to move his lower lid down, and it REALLY caused problems for Brolins eye. It actually became infected and everything.

Nice to see Megan Fox finally kick some ass. I've always said, she has the looks for a heroine. Maybe she has a shot. But for a film that took ages to reveal a trailer and go through all this drama, it may not end well. Her shit magnetism will increase further, I'll tell you that much.

Even if her performance sucks, what about the higher profile stars: Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, and Michael Fassbender?

Wild Wild West lol - remember the song? * sings* it's just tha wild wild west!... lol was a bizarre clever attempt at least.

I dunno - Brolin is pretty bad ass lately. The script was probably great, he wouldn't have done it otherwise. If it gets botched, it'll be in post.

I still think they'll cg the eye in at some point.

This is not going to be good ... and it's a VERY bad sign that SyFy is promoting it ... sounds like Mutant Chronicles to me, where it was playing on SyFy a few weeks after it's release into theatres.

jonah sucks more like it. this looks cheesy,but i agree a brave star film would be awesome,and a mega man if done in the vein of ironman,transformers,and terminator.and has anyone heard any news on the creature from the black lagoon remake, because i have been waiting for that film and really want to see it made.

looking good the full trailer will reveal more bad ass action .
the gatlin guns were no supprise to me having heard about from the teaser they showed at comic con.
It would really suck if they did throw him into the future that series sucked and lasted only 18 frakked up issue... Jonah Hex will kick ass......

So wait...you all are judging this movie to be crap based on that 7 second clip at the top? Is there a link or something to the preview that I'm not seeing? If not, then thats just plain retarded but thats the internet for you. Haven't seen a trailer but "This movie is going to be Wild Wild West 2". Grow up! Seriously, I'm pretty sure that you had your mind made up about it before a single scene was shot. It may be good, but it also may be crap. But to make up your mind without seeing anything of consequence is just childish. Then again, that does a disservice to children because they wait to see something before deciding on it. C'mon, some of you need your internet taken away.
