Second Look at The Mega-City One Vehicles From The Set of Dredd!

A new shot from the Cape Town set of Dredd with the Mega-City Judge Vehicles but this time at a different angle and you can see the whole sides of the vans...

A better view of the Mega-City vans and buildings too, if their part of the set of course?

LEEE777 - Many thanks to Galactus for the find and there you have it not much but I'm kinda wondering what they are used for... throwing criminals in the back or dogs or even for their bikes?

Heres the original pics at Ror's Cape Town article if you haven't seen it yet, go and have a look, link here: Rormachine.

Really?? Dredds bike & the trucks in this piece look real corny. Like something out of a cheap B movie. Not saying that the movies not going to be good - it's too early for that but so far, the pictures we've seen from this production are all pretty lame.

Just doesn't look futuristic enough for my taste, but I am not an avid fan of Judge Dredd, so I may be too critical as to that without knowing how it should look.

idk guys but im kind of a skeptic i read the books yrs back and loved the Batman/Dredd crossovers but like Batman has the Joker Dredd has Death and from what ive heard from the rumor mill hes not gonna be in the film again FAIL wff? i mean... with the exceptions of Thor, Cap, and even Green Lantern these egotistical writers and directors seem to luv omitting the VILLIANS that we luved to hate, made our heroes what they were to begin with, and defined the characters. Whats even worse when they do use a good villian they change them drastically (Deadpool, Galactus, and yes Ledgers Joker)

lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame

......did I mention lame?? I thought it bore repeating.

I get that Dredd is supposed to be gritty, dirty, mean.... but it was also futuristic. Emphasis on FUTURISTIC - they just ripped off Robocop's Dredd inspiration. If they don't even mention a lunar penal colony in the solar system, then it sure as hell ain't the complete DREDD. The story sure as hell BETTER be good to make up for the lack of imagination and faithfulness in the looks department. At best, the way this is going, it's a rental for sure rather than a must-own.

PS... sorry abt my disparaging remarks LEEE.... but I gotta be honest, I really don't get a Dredd vibe from this movie at all.

Good stuff, Leee! I've got to be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to this (with fingers crossed). The fact that Death won't be in is won't be so bad if it captures the tone of Dredd & does well enough to warrant a sequel. Then they can bring on the good (bad) Judge Death.

Also, @ lc: kudos to you, good woman! Seems like you've become one of the boys today with your picture postings ;-)

What's all this crap about Judge Death, he was never a regular villain, Dredd has no regular recurring villain like Batman etc becasue he KILLS THEM! He's a judge and that's what they have the power to do. Those cars are nothing like Mega City vehicles, this film looked bad from the start and looks worse with every reveal. This flick is Dredd-lite for joe average, Karl Urban doesn't even have the chin for it! Ray Stevenson being cast in the lead with Kristen Bell as Anderson would have been a step in the right direction, these guys took a wrong step and kept going in that wrong direction. Fail!
WhiteDragon66
WhiteDragon66 - 1/26/2011, 8:03 PM
Well im not a Hardcore Dredd fan like other people, like i said ive read a few of the books and i kinda enjoyed the stories involving Judge Death, it gave Dredd a challenge dealing with a supernatural monster that cannot DIE so he CAN be a recurring character so we differ in opinion on that subject ceejay i do agree that the vehicles look weak ,and Stevenson wouldve been awesome but really? chin? lmfao smh make that 2 things we dissagree on cuz the only way their gonna nail THAT chin is using prosthetics and makeup and it would look STUPID and hilarious. I mean i like them to stick to the source material like the next guy but cmon son thats one characteristic that if left out will not ruin the movie or character.

Hey everyone. First post of many I hope.
This new Dredd flick just looks damn cheap based on all of the images so far. Whether or not they are making a decent movie is still hard to tell, but it's not exactly encouraging. Why make a Dredd film if you're not able to pay for the right look.

Believe it or not, the guy running the South African studio where 'Dredd' is being filmed has claimed the budget would be $100 million if shot in the US. LOL!

Those trucks look so crappy. Awful. If that's the 'look' they're trying to convey, this film will tank. Judge Dredd is epic sci-fi, it's not meant to look cheap. The whole film could be a huge disaster but let's give the film makers a little benefit of the doubt. For the moment at least!
