BIG Villain For WB's JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie Revealed?
Certainly a perfect counter to Marvel's The Avengers sequel's rumored villain, the latest rumor for DC's Justice League movie may have revealed what godly villain will challenge the super-team.
After revealing many big Marvel movie scoops in the past year or so, the folks from Latino Review have landed another one. However, this time it's in regards to a long-awaited adaptation from Disney/Marvel's rival studio, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. Despite WB having yet to formally announce the Justice League movie, there's been a lot of buzz surrounding its development.
And now reputable sources of Latino Review have it on good authority that Justice League will be villainized by the “supreme monarch of the planet Apokolips and the greatest threat to the DC Universe,” as LR notes. If you haven't already guessed it, the DC superhero ensemble will brawl with none other than Darkseid. More about the Godly character's background, via Wikia, Darkseid is the ruler of Apokolips and Darkseid's Elite and was a major player in the cosmic war that was the Final Crisis. Darkseid first appeared in Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #134, created by Jack Kirby.
Darkseid was also influence for Writer-artist Jim Starlin's Mad Titan Thanos, who (also first revealed by Latino Review) made his brief cinematic debut during Marvel's The Avengers stinger and is rumored for a full-fledge appearance in the sequel. And if reports of Warner Bros. aiming Justice League for theaters in 2015 are accurate, we'll see both villains in action that summer.
Reportedly following Zack Snyder's Man of Steel ‘Superman’ reboot on WB's DC Comics slate, Justice League is being penned by Gangster Squad scribe Will Beall. And LR further reports that a director is still being sought-after and filming should start next year. What do you think?
