HBO Max Adds Classic SUPERMAN Movies And Extends Runs For JUSTICE LEAGUE And WONDER WOMAN

There's been a lot of backlash surrounding the revolving door of DC titles on HBO Max, but as well as adding Christopher Reeve's Superman movies, the platform has also extended the runs of newer films!

The DC Extended Universe has managed to find a way to stick around on HBO Max for a little longer than expected. Earlier this month, it was confirmed that titles like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Justice League would all leave the service on July 1 with a "revolving door" of DC films taking their place.

The backlash was sizeable, and clearly reliasing that they were risking losing subscribers to the recently launched HBO Max, WarnerMedia has now confimed that those films will remain on the streaming service until the end of the year.

That's good news, but even better is the planned addition of Zack Snyder's Watchmen alongside classic Superman films, Superman: The Movie, Superman II, Superman III, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, and Superman Unbound. The world needs more optimism and hope right now, and Christopher Reeve's Superman flicks should definitely help in that sense.

Unfortunately, Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Catwoman, Jonah Hex, and The Losers are all still scheduled to leave the service on July 1, and the timing couldn't be worse given the news that Michael Keaton will return as Batman in The Flash

Now seems like the worst time to be losing the Burton & Schumacher Batman films, considering the recent news this week

@tmp3 - schumacher himself would be ok with that considering hes openly admitted those films are terrible and has publicly apologized for them.

Another reason streaming will always suck nothing last forever on streaming here is video streaming on Disney plus with bad weather effecting WiFi

Someone explain why they bother rotating things on and off the service when WB OWNS these? Netflix makes sense since they license a good chuck of their content.

@patgreyc - Because while MAX is a end all be all stop for Time Warner's content, they still have a separate streaming services for literally all of their distinct platforms, except maybe the Turner Classic Movies (and I'm pretty sure some of them are in the Criterion Channel). So anything not with the "HBO" or "max Originals" moniker gets rotated to get people to subscribe to those different services, even if (as far as I've seen) there's no promotion for those other services in their sections.

I think they should permanently keep some of them up, the real classics that everyone interested in the genre should watch. Like the Reeves Superman and Burton's Batman movies, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Rick and Morty.

80 years of superhero movies and the one scene I can sit and watch repeatedly for all time is the Clark Kent vs Cranky Superman scene in Superman III. I just love how absolutely ridiculous it is, from premise to execution.

If AT&T is intent on keeping up running their hundred different streaming services, their shouldn't be any Max exclusives, share the originals with their dedicated platform. Like there's no reason the Cartoon Network/Boomerang service shouldn't have Looney Tunes Cartoons or Crunchyroll not carry Ghibli, it would prop those other services up.
Do discounted bundles! Like Disney already does. I'd happily pay for a Anime bundle just Max and Crunchyroll together for $18-20.
