JUSTICE LEAGUE Director Zack Snyder On Another Filmmaker Possibly Picking Up Where The Snyder Cut Left Off

Warner Bros. appears to have no intentions of continuing Zack Snyder's vision for the DC Extended Universe, & the filmmaker has now weighed in on the prospect of someone else picking up where he left off.

Zack Snyder's Justice League arrived on HBO Max earlier this year, and while it received mostly positive reviews (71% on Rotten Tomatoes), it didn't exactly break viewing records on the streaming service. Despite that, it was still a hit, and Blu-ray sales were reportedly pretty strong as well.

Regardless, Warner Bros. viewed the "Snyder Cut" as a conclusion to the filmmaker's vision for the DC Extended Universe, not something that would set the stage for his take to continue. Of course, Snyder used those reshoots to lay the groundwork for his planned sequels, hence why we've seen the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse movement take off on social media in a big way.

During a recent interview with Games Radar, Snyder was asked how he would feel to see another director pick up where he left off with the Justice League. That may sound unlikely, but remember, Warner Bros. enlisted Joss Whedon to do pretty much exactly that with the 2017 movie!

"Oh gosh, I wouldn't have thought of that," Snyder admitted. "Listen, I loved making all those DC movies, and I love superheroes, and I love the genre. I'm very excited to see Matt [Reeves]'s Batman movie [The Batman], so that's exciting. Something like that [though], I'm not sure."

There's probably a somewhat decent chance The Flash will reference the "SnyderVerse," so the director could find that those dangling plot threads are tied up sooner than he anticipated. After all, if Barry Allen does create a new DC Universe a la Flashpoint, Batman's Knightmare will never come to pass.

What do you think should happen to the Justice League franchise moving forward?

@BlackBeltJones - Snyder's JL 2 and 3 are never happening. So it is useless to speculate whether he or someone else will do it.

@KingLeonidas - Agreed. As far as I'm concerned it'll be reconstituted possibly, the league, or it'll just be stand alone pics until they figure it out. So, for all intents and purposes it's....

@KingLeonidas - Exactly. JL is getting rebooted and I'm betting WB will be paying attention to how the JSA plays with audiences and possibly spin that IP off from Black Adam.

Can I just get a Superman film that doesn't act like he's the Messiah who doesn't give a [frick] about humanity and a Justice League film that looks good and gives me the feelings that the animated series did?

@WakandanQueen - A Superman who cares for people? What a concept! But seriously the animated Superman is a perfect jumping off point for a movie version. Hopefully they realize going forward not everything needs to be dark and gritty

Not that I want that shit take to continue, but you'd have to be a nobody looking for a big break or desperate to revive your career to touch the toxic nature surrounding such a film and then be the most Zen motherfocker in the world to tune out the noise.

Hbo max only gained 7m subscribers since September last year. Good job on the day-date you idiots, lost money in theaters and pirates got those juicy streams. Stop saying pirating isn't a big deal. It no doubt takes away movie tickets and subscribers. People are either cheap or lazy going that route. Nothing like a 1.5 gig "4k" low bitrate with 2.0 audio copy on your pos Vizio lmao. Yikes

@bobevanz - Nothing wrong with a Vizio. My first plasma lasted me from '03 til '18. I would recommend investing in a Bravia these days though.

I hope The Flash picks up on it, and then proceeds to wipe it away. I do like Snyder's movies, but in no way is their niche style a good basis for a shared universe.

I'll admit it led to some other cools things too with Wonder Woman and Aquaman, but I think those are nearing it's end too. Shazam and The Suicide Squad might already even be part of the new universe. So no need to stick around longer than needed.
