JUSTICE LEAGUE Star Ben Affleck Calls Marvel's Kevin Feige "The Greatest Producer Who Ever Lived"

Is Ben Affleck angling for a Marvel Studios gig? During a new interview, the Justice League star showers Kevin Feige with praise, referring to the Marvel boss as "the greatest producer who ever lived."

Ben Affleck is reportedly set to return as Batman for one more appearance(?) in The Flash, but is then expected to hang up the cape and cowl for good. The actor has probably had more than enough of superhero roles at this stage, but if his comments about Kevin Feige are any indication, it doesn't sound like he'd be opposed to working with the Marvel President on an MCU project someday.

While speaking to THR for the latest episode of their Awards Chatter Podcast, the actor was full of praise for Feige, who he worked with many years ago on the much-maligned 2003 Daredevil movie.

"Kevin Feige is, you absolutely have to say, the greatest, most successful producer who ever lived," stated the Justice League star. "He’s the only guy in the world, who if he told me like, ‘I know what the audience wants, this what we’re gonna do,’ I would believe it in a heartbeat. That fuc*er knows his audience like no producer... he’s a genius. Absolute master, you know, ring master of the circus. He knows exactly when to pull at the heart strings [of the audience], exactly how to do the effects, how many jokes, what the sensibility, what the tone is."

At the very least, it's probably safe to assume he's a Marvel fan!

Again, the chances of Affleck agreeing to play another superhero after his experience as The Dark Knight are probably somewhere between slim and none, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be willing to helm a Marvel movie - and don't forget, Feige also has a Star Wars project in the works.

What do you guys think? If Affleck was to board the MCU as either an actor or director (or both), which character do you think he'd be best suited to?

@OmegaDaGrodd -

Whether you love the MCU movies or think the tone is too similar across the board you MUST give him credit for his producing skills. He most definitely is giving the people what they want and it shows.

@OmegaDaGrodd - unpopular opinion, I think the MCU movies are garbage. I still respect the shit out of Kevin Feige, but I am in absolute disbelief that no one has been able to create a better universe. MCU is so bargain basement.

I literally using the DC characters, based on the comics could come up with a universe that makes Marvel look like pure kiddy shit. Like none of the MCU movies are as good as great action movies like Jurassic Park or Indiana Jones or ET.

I think its just one of those things where comic fans have just accepted the bargain basement, and just because the movies are connected they love it. That being said, all the future projects of marvel look way more exciting. And there are a few Marvel movies I think are generally good. Just not that many.

@aresww3 - I've just logged in to my account for the first time in years to say that, respectfully, I've never seen anyone be more wrong about anything for quite some time. Bargain basement my arse. Stay well! :)

@DarthMauve - Cinematography trash, score trash, stories have no stakes, childish humor, nearly every solo movie is the exact same plot as Iron Man, terrible forgettable villains, average uninteresting action that looks the same in every movie. Just on every level they are purely mediocre. You watch it once and forget about it.

Bear in mind, I am not including Avengers, Infinity War, Endgame, Iron Man 1, Cap AMERICA CIVIL WAR OR CAP AMERICA WINTER SOLDIER in this, but all the other movies are wildly overrated.

I don't think any of them even reach the story telling and character work of Independence Day, let alone the great blockbuster and action movies of years past. They are very very very average. I would say they are good for comic book movies but that isn't saying much.

And even in the comic book movie genre, Dredd with Karl Urban is a better movie than every MCU movie, Daredevil series is better than every SINGLE MCU MOVIE, the Kingsmen, Kickass, SIN CITY, V FOR VENDETTA, The Dark Knight a movie that came out in 2008 is BETTER than every MCU movie in almost every way. And sorry The Dark Knight is NOT THAT GOOD, that no comic book movie in the last 15 years can not better it.

MCU hit a formula that worked and decided to take absolutely no risks for about two of phases.

Now I think MCU is finally starting to reach its potential and I'm really looking forward to The Eternals, Shang Chi and Black Widow. They look like they are going to be truly spectacular.

@aresww3 - its always easy to create a better movie in hindsight... but the progress of the MCU rolling like steamroller year by year is undisputed and that level of progress will always have its misteps.

@aresww3 - You thought Sin City was good? V for Vendetta was good? Or at least better than any Marvel film? 😂 those films were garbage. A tragedy in compare to the GN. Watchmen was equally as shitty.

You just sound like someone who hates Marvel.

None of those films you mentioned are of any great shake. Much less head and shoulders above Marvel.

DC is just embarrassing.

While I wouldn’t argue that any of the Marvel films are great, they’re still better than the average action film, and are brilliantly produced.

I table that back. I thought Captain America 2 was really good. I’ve enjoyed most of them. Better than most of the action and adventure genre.

@Oldhabitsdiehrd - I said I like Captain America 2. And no I don't hate marvel. Just saw Wandavision and its unique, compelling, great directing and as stated earlier I'm very excited for the future of Marvel. I just think them getting 90 percent scores for trash like Antman, and even Endgamee with its massive plotholes (I like the movie I'm not calling it trash, just overrated) is due to a level of bias and fanboyism when it comes to critiquing marvel movies

@JonC - I hear you man. I think Kevin has been a massively brilliant ring master for the MCU. That being said, I would say 5 movies I've seen of Marvel were outstanding and the rest have been ok.

However I understand that quality was sometimes sacrificed in order to get all these movies in line.

I guess with DC I prefer having creative failures in order to get Jokers, Shazams and Wonder Woman's. But I wish DC had a better hit rate. WW84 was a complete unnecessary disaster. For once I wish DC had have made a safe movie rather than take the unnecessary risk of completely changing tone from the first. It was a dumb move.

He’s 100% right. Feige is nothing short of a literal business genius. The amount of managerial skill, shrewd business acumen and creative vision this man has is extraordinary

If only the DCEU had a legit Feige type running things ... we’d be on JL2 akin to setting up their version of Endgame 😩

@Jayman627 - I think had it been another time and Ben wasn't going through his own personal hell, I think he could've made the best Batman movie since The Dark Knight. The guy knows how to write and direct and takes the subject matter he's working on seriously.
