JUSTICE LEAGUE: The Familial Relationship Between Darkseid And Steppenwolf Has Been Revealed

A new report on Justice League reveals that Zack Snyder has made some big changes to the relationship between Steppenwolf and Darkseid in the highly anticipated DC Comics adaptation but will it upset fans?

In the comic books, Steppenwolf is Darkseid's uncle. However, he's going to be Justice League's primary antagonist (Darkseid is expected to make little more than a cameo appearance) and that's resulted in the familial tie between the two undergoing quite a significant change. According to a new report in Geek Magazine, Steppenwolf is actually going to be Darkseid's nephew in the DC Films Universe.

This makes sense as it would seem a little strange for the ruler of Apokolips to send his uncle to Earth on his behalf; Steppenwolf being his nephew further emphasises that he's a subordinate to the villain.

"In Justice League, Batman and Wonder Woman, following Superman’s death in battling Doomsday, is intent on bringing together a team to take on Steppenwolf," the magazine reveals. "This new menace is the nephew to Darkseid of Apokolips (presumably the big bad of the second JL adventure). Steppenwolf is on Earth to retrieve three Mother Boxes, one of which is part of Cyborg."

While it's possible the magazine has made a mistake here, this is definitely food for thought as what seems like a minor change on the surface could really change the dynamic between Steppenwolf and Darkseid in Justice League. It's even possible he's on Earth without his uncle's permission! What do you guys think of these new details? Let us know your thoughts on that in the comments section below.

@MonsieurClunge - Exactly!!!

Also this makes perfect sense, no need to confuse the casual moviegoer, nephew makes more sense.

Darkseid = Rob Stark

Steppenwolf = Edmure Tully

It wouldn't have been weird to leave the comicbook established familial relationship, perhaps it was a mistake/misunderstanding.

@obarium - but that took a lot of careful planning to establish the successions in Westeros, not sure they will spend that much time with Apokolips politics.

Either way it wont make or break the movie.
