JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE SNYDER CUT September 2021 Release Date Debunked By HBO Max Spokesperson

Last week, we heard that Justice League: The Snyder Cut would be released on HBO Max next September, but an HBO Max spokesperson has confirmed that was, in fact, an incorrect listing on DC Press Portal!

Justice League: The Snyder Cut has been billed for a early to mid-2021 release, making it all the more confusing when we later heard that it had been dated for a September 5, 2021 debut on HBO Max. At DC FanDome, filmmaker Zack Snyder confirmed plans for the film to be released in four parts, with a feature-length version likely to follow.

Though it remains possible that this could be the date the four hour director's cut is released as a feature, an HBO Max spokesperson tells Collider's EIC that the date above is incorrect.

The original listing came from the DC Press Portal website, though it was never clear whether the image was doctored or if the listing was a mistake. Whatever the case may now be, it's clear a release date for the Snyder Cut of Justice League has not been decided on or that WarnerMedia isn't ready to share such big news with comic book fans.

A trailer for Snyder's film was released during DC FanDome, but it makes sense to save a true release date reveal for a future sneak peek as that's sure to generate a lot of headlines and attention. News like that during the online event was likely to get lost in the shuffle during a busy news weekend.

Will the four parts drop in like four different days or all at once? Because if it's the latter, there's no real point in separating it into four parts AND releasing it as feature-length.

@WakandanQueen - Gonna guess it’ll drop every Friday for a month... gotta boost those subs somehow

@tmp3 - That's what I've been thinking. That way they can keep the Snyder cut relevant and talked about for another month.

@WakandanQueen - Definitely not all at once. The way they have bungled HBOmax since it launched, it wouldn't surprise me if they did one a month to milk the sycophants and keep them paying. If it is once a week, it'll definitely straddle 2 months so they can't watch it all on the free trial.

So far what we have seen is slightly differently lit scenes, some different shots of scenes and scenes with stuff cgi covering up stuff from the old version. The new designs are better(ish). Nothing different enough to change my opinion on how this will turn out.

If it turns out good (I doubt it will), then shows Snyder cant direct movies, cause yeah this isn't a movie, it is in no way something that would have ever been released in theaters in 2017, this is a big budget tv show now. So if its good, maybe Snyder should consider going to tv, cause yeah if you cant make a decent movie with 2 and a half hours, then you obviously arent very good at your job, many directors have done more with less

@dracula - ''many directors have done more with less''

Into the Spider-Verse is one I can think of. It's is a great movie, that even runs below two hours

@MalesMarcel - exactly. BVS ultimate cut is better but i wouldnt call it amazing it still has a shit load of problems and its quality really isnt good enough to warrent 3 hours. So if time is the issue, then obviously snyder cant direct movies

Good ! We get enough kiddy crap with the million-and-one Marvel movies that come out every year...this should be a nice change...ala the BvS:uc

@emeraldtaurus - Saying everything Marvel puts out is kiddy stuff is a seriously exaggeration. Sure you have Guardians and Thor Ragnarok that are very goofy, but you also have stuff like Captain America The Winter Soldier and Infinity War.

Not like this is actually a change of pace in tone, DC had plenty of Dark movies before and after. Joker, The Dark Knight Trilogy, The Batman. Then you have Wonder Woman, which isnt really dark, but is very serious

Sad how a half hour animated show could tell a more mature story than a movie, which the director claims is for adults

I really do want to see this “movie”. Sooner rather than later. Mostly so it can be over with already. By September of next year this shit will be so damn overhyped it would have to be astronomical to not be torn apart. In short, drop that shit in January!

I was already kinda sceptical about it, considering the full production cycle is around a year for a movie. This only has to do post-production as far as we know, so it should be much earlier than september next year (I'm guessing june is more likely)

Fall 2021?! Unacceptable. Snyder's had plenty of time. The four-parter should be ready to drop no later than February 2021.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - just shows how full of shit he was when he told everyone that the snyder cut existed and that it just needed effects. Obviously there is more work to be done
Gravityle

@dracula - I mean, adding effects to a movie does take a substantial amount of time. Considering that this cut never officially started post-production, probably even longer.

"Across all films, this is an average of 301 days. Horror films seem to make it through post-production the quickest, with visual effects-heavy Fantasy films taking longer."

On the day it comes out we will finally be free of Hack Snyder’s influence over these characters

On that day we will

There's a 0% chance that I will sit through a 4-hour Snyder movie for kids.

@obredaan - I couldn't sit through a 3-hour Snyder movie, let alone a 4-hour one.
